Job DescriptionJob Title: Residential ElectricianJob Description Join a skilled electrical team focused on ground-up and reconstruction residential projects across the Chicagoland area, from Shorewood to Huntley, with no work performed within the city limits. You will install and wire new single-family homes and multifamily apartments, bend and run conduit, pull wire, and support all aspects of residential electrical systems from rough-in to finish. This role offers the opportunity to work on medium to large residential projects, taking assignments from start to completion while collaborating with both journeyman and apprentice electricians. Responsibilities • Install and wire new construction residential projects, including single-family homes and multifamily apartments, from ground up through completion., • Run and pull wire for 120V, 240V, and 480V systems in residential and select commercial environments as needed., • Bend and install conduit, including proficiency in pipe bending up to 1 inch, to support electrical installations., • Read and interpret blueprints and electrical drawings to plan and execute installations accurately., • Perform all aspects of residential electrical work independently, including rough-in, trim, and final connections., • Assist with medium to large residential construction projects, including both new builds and reconstruction work., • Troubleshoot electrical issues in both residential and commercial settings and implement effective solutions., • Work closely with a team of electricians, following instructions and coordinating tasks to maintain project timelines., • Provide guidance to electrician helpers and apprentices by demonstrating proper techniques and delegating tasks where appropriate., • Ensure all work meets applicable electrical standards and project specifications while maintaining a clean and organized work area., • Travel to various job sites throughout the Chicagoland area and remain on assigned projects until completion, as directed.Essential Skills, • Hands-on experience with new build residential electrical work on single-family homes or multifamily apartment projects., • Proficiency in conduit bending, including bending pipe up to 1 inch., • Ability to run conduit and pull wire for residential electrical systems., • Experience working with 120V, 240V, and 480V electrical systems., • Capability to read and follow blueprints and electrical schematics accurately., • Ability to work independently on all aspects of electrical work, from rough-in to finish., • Experience troubleshooting electrical issues in residential and commercial environments., • Ability to work effectively with a team and follow instructions on active job sites., • Ownership and regular use of personal pouches, hand tools, cordless tools, and conduit benders suitable for residential work.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Experience as a commercial electrician, combined with residential electrical experience., • Experience leading or mentoring helpers and apprentices on job sites., • Comfort working on both new construction and reconstruction projects., • Strong communication skills to coordinate tasks with other electricians and site personnel., • Solid understanding of safe work practices on construction sites.Why Work Here? You will use your own pouches, hand tools, cordless tools, and conduit benders daily, working with 120V, 240V, and 480V systems and performing tasks such as running wire, bending conduit, and troubleshooting electrical issues. The environment is team-oriented, with journeyman and apprentice electricians collaborating on tasks, sharing knowledge, and delegating responsibilities to ensure projects are completed safely and efficiently. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Naperville, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $45.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
