Ready to join our quest for better? Job Description Northwestern Medicine has an exciting opportunity for a Neuropsychologist. This position is mostly outpatient. However, if a patient is admitted, there may be a need to be able to see them, and if necessary, evaluate patient. Responsibilities include but are not limited to interviewing patients, testing patients, supervising psychometrist (who is a technician) during testing, interpreting and writing reports, conducting feedback, attending division meetings, attending school meetings. Patient interactions would include telehealth, in-office visits +/- ambient listening. These tasks are organized into a weekly schedule based on several factors such as psychometrist and exam room availability. Schedule: M-F, days The Neuropsychologist reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards. A neuropsychologist is a clinical psychologist specializing in the evaluation and treatment of cognitive, emotional, and behavioral abilities in children and adults, as they related to brain development, aging, disease, and injury. Responsibilities: • Reports to the Director of Neuropsychology, • Evaluates neurocognitive concerns, symptoms, or signs, • Consultation with physicians, other providers, therapists, and staff, • Supervises psychometrists, and others including students, residents, and fellows, • Communicates with clinicians and family members as appropriate., • Participates in educational programs, in-service meetings, clinician meetings, and workshops to enhance professional development and maintain currency of methodology and techniques., • Documents in accordance with policies and procedures regarding medical records; implements and adheres to policies which ensure patient confidentiality., • Demonstrates an ability to use independent judgment and to manage and impart confidential information., • Participates in program development and implementation in area of expertise and promotes appropriate utilization of psychological services., • Provides in-service education and staff support as needed to enhance patient care delivery and patient outcomes with the psychologically involved patient. Qualifications Required: • Successful completion of a doctoral degree program in professional psychology (e.g. PhD, PsyD) granted from a training program accredited by the American Psychological Association (APA), • A pre-doctoral internship accredited by the APA; and a postdoctoral fellowship in clinical neuropsychology accredited by the Association of Postdoctoral Programs in Clinical Neuropsychology (APPCN) resulting in eligibility for board certification by the American Board of Professional Psychology (ABPP)., • Pediatric neuropsychology fellowship is highly preferred, • Board certification by the American Board of Clinical Neuropsychology (ABCN) Additional Information Northwestern Medicine is an equal opportunity employer (disability, VETS) and does not discriminate in hiring or employment on the basis of age, sex, race, color, religion, national origin, gender identity, veteran status, disability, sexual orientation or any other protected status.
