Job Description Job Title: 2nd Shift Cleanroom Assembly Prep Job Description This role supports the production of surgical single-use items, instruments, and kits for hospitals and healthcare product manufacturers. You will work in a cleanroom environment on the 2nd shift, preparing and assembling medical devices, performing inspections, and packaging products according to strict quality and regulatory standards. Responsibilities • Count, cut, measure, fold, and otherwise modify raw materials according to instructions in the Device Master Record, ensuring all work meets documented specifications., • Complete required inspections and documentation of quantities, control numbers, and other information in accordance with quality system (QS) and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) policies., • Perform on-line inspection of each device as it is produced, identifying defects or issues and promptly reporting problems to the Production Supervisor for resolution., • Seal products in their final packaging configuration, following proper procedures and using correct machine settings to ensure package integrity., • Prepare packaged work-in-progress for sterilization, including accurate completion of documentation and assignment of control numbers per QS and GMP requirements., • Maintain proper inventory control procedures, including product staging, segregation, and rotation, to support accurate stock management and traceability., • Perform and document scheduled facility cleaning activities in accordance with QS standards to maintain a safe and compliant cleanroom environment., • Understand and adhere to proper cleanroom etiquette at all times, including following gowning procedures and contamination control practices., • Carry out additional duties as assigned by the Production Supervisor to support production goals and departmental needs., • Communicate and collaborate effectively with production, purchasing, quality, and leadership to accomplish assigned goals and objectives., • Support the objectives of the quality management system and recommend improvements to processes and procedures as needed., • Work as part of a team with all personnel to achieve company goals and maintain a positive, cooperative work environment., • Provide enthusiastic support that contributes to a positive attitude and strong team morale., • Identify improvements and modifications to departmental procedures to enhance efficiency, quality, and safety. Essential Skills • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs safely and repeatedly during the shift., • Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy in following written instructions and documenting work., • Motivation to work in a structured, process-driven environment with consistent adherence to procedures., • Preferred minimum of 1 year of experience in a cleanroom, medical assembly, or warehouse environment., • Demonstrated team leadership capabilities, including the ability to support and guide coworkers., • Ability to operate basic production equipment safely and correctly., • Good verbal and written communication skills, including basic English proficiency to read work orders and communicate with auditors and supervisors., • Ability to work effectively in a predominantly Spanish-speaking environment and collaborate with tenured employees., • Capability to work on 2nd shift from approximately 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM, Monday through Friday, with potential overtime on weekdays or Saturdays. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Experience in medical device production, medical assembly, or cleanroom operations., • Familiarity with general production, packing, and assembly processes., • Comfort working with microscopes and hand tools in a detailed assembly environment., • Ability to interpret simple blueprints or work instructions related to medical devices, such as catheters and other surgical products., • Experience using basic power tools in a production or assembly setting., • Understanding of QS and GMP policies and their application in a regulated manufacturing environment., • Ability to identify procedural improvements and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives., • Strong teamwork mindset with a focus on building morale and supporting colleagues. Work Environment This position is based in a cleanroom environment within a new department that currently consists of approximately four team members, creating a close-knit and focused atmosphere. Team members must wear full cleanroom gear while working, including scrubs, white coat, gloves, hair net, and other required protective items; makeup, jewelry, false eyelashes, and long or artificial nails are not permitted to maintain cleanroom standards. The environment is predominantly Spanish-speaking among tenured employees, and basic English is required to read work orders and communicate with auditors and supervisors. The role is on 2nd shift, typically from 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM, Monday through Friday, with potential overtime on weekdays or Saturdays. Employees take set breaks after four hours of work. Water and restroom breaks are allowed, but team members must notify the lead before leaving the cleanroom to properly ungown and gown again. Work involves standing, handling materials, operating basic production equipment, and performing detailed assembly and inspection tasks in a controlled, regulated setting focused on safety, cleanliness, and quality. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Placentia, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $17.50 - $17.50/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
