Job Description Candidate must be a licensed or certified CNA, MA, or LVN. Position Summary The TCC is responsible for technical skills encompassing patient care and related tasks under the direction of a Doctor, Physician’s Assistant and or Nurse Practitioner. The TCC works closely with patients and medical staff to ensure proper use of equipment and telehealth visit is accomplished. General Duties and Responsibilities The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following: • Delivering direct patient care to patients as assigned, using established procedures, • Documenting history; recording and reporting pertinent observations and patient reactions to staff, as appropriate. documenting lab procedures and ensuring follow up on results, • Using screening procedures, including medical history review, and observing and documenting patient vital signs as required, • Maintaining quality results by running standards and controls, • Verifying equipment function through routine equipment maintenance and advanced trouble shooting; calibrating equipment utilizing approved testing procedures; monitoring quality control measures and protocols, • Training other TCC’s or other workers The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following: • Acknowledge receipt of scheduling email with the administrative team. Ensure consent forms are in place before scheduled visits., • Introduce yourself to the patient each visit., • Explain consent forms and obtain the patient's or legal guardian's signature on the forms., • Obtain the patient's pharmacy information., • Take patient's vital signs and document for provider., • At the designated time, contact the provider to initiate an evaluation., • Support phone/iPad for the patient's for duration of the evaluation., • Once the evaluation is completed, TCC will end the communication with the Clinical provider, thank the patient for the evaluation and leave the patient in a comfortable position before leaving the patient's home and or SNF bed., • At no time will the TCC offer his/her services to a patient, Agency, or SNF, that they have provided services to or been introduced by PAS. Any infraction of this policy is a term for immediate discharge from employment., • TCC dress code will be nursing scrubs. Participate in training, preparation, and continuing education in instructional methods and teaching skills. Essential Duties and Responsibilities • Teaches assigned number of classes using the prescribed courses of study with established texts and/or prescribed instructional materials., • Maintains classroom in good physical order., • Responsible and accountable for supervising students in a laboratory and/or clinical setting for respective course(s)., • Review and order proper medical supplies for laboratory experience, • Provide hands-on instruction for students via demonstration., • Assess learning by evaluating competency with return demonstrations., • Sign, date, and provide feedback for each student skills checklist as required, • Manages simulation scenarios and evaluates student responses., • Manage CPR instruction in accordance with American Heart Association guidelines, • Patient communication and human relations, • Phlebotomy (venous, capillary draws and centrifuge), • ECG and Peak Flow Monitoring, • Suture removal, • Injections (subcutaneous, intradermal, intramuscular), • Obtaining vital signs and measurements (height, weight, temperature, blood pressure, respiratory rate, pulse, pulse oximetry), • Triage, critical thinking and patient documentation, • Perform point of care testing (HCG, Mono, Strep, Urinalysis, Blood Glucose, Hematocrit), • Obtain and prepare lab specimens for transport, • Assistance with general and specialized examinations (i.e., gynecological exams), • CPR (Basic Life Support-Provider), • Sterile instrument decontamination, wrapping, and sterilization, • Medication Administration (various routes and buffering/reconstitution of medications for injections), • Aseptic and Sterile Technique (handwashing, decontamination), • PPE use, maintenance, and disposal, • Safety, Biohazard waste disposal and sharps management, • Mandated reporting of communicable disease Job Requirements • Ability to communicate and impart knowledge to others with enthusiasm and confidence., • Remains current with health care competencies and standards for the assigned course(s)., • Performs related work as required., • Leadership, time management, planning, and teamwork skills, • Ability to communicate abstract and concrete concepts to individuals in both written and oral form., • Ability to quickly establish rapport with students and to maintain positive relationships with students, continuing to promote and provide opportunities for student success., • Ability to adapt classroom management and communication styles to engage various personalities inside and outside the classroom environment., • Must be comfortable with various computer software programs, including presentation, word processing software and email., • Must be comfortable utilizing technology in the classroom, including computers, and projectors; always seeking to use technology to enhance the student experience in the classroom., • Must be able to familiarize self with new technology and approaches as opportunities present themselves., • Ability to provide potential solutions to problems as well as listen to potential solutions and guide implementation of decided-upon strategies, particularly issues dealing with student success, remediation, and tutoring., • Proficiency in clinical methodologies, processes, and procedures. Qualifications • Degree or post-secondary education and relative experience to meet state (TWC) and ABHES accreditation requirements., • Minimum of 3-5 years practical experience with teaching experience preferred., • Current certification, registration, and/or licensure as a Medical Assistant, Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN), Registered Nurse (RN), Medical Doctor (M.D.), • Current Basic Life Support Provider-Instructor Certification through the American Heart Association
