Job Description We have an immediate need for a Litigation Legal Assistant at a leading law firm conveniently located in Long Island. This is a full-time direct hire opportunity. Job Duties Include: • Calendar and follow-up on deadlines for discovery, Court events, etc., • Contact Courts (confirm hearings, obtain dockets, e-filing procedures, etc.) and adjusters/clients as needed, • Schedule conference calls/meetings and handle scheduling/calendaring for their assigned team, • Open and close client files, • Associate and download documents, emails, and court filings into iManage document system, • Review invoices for payments and submit expense reports, • Prepare pleadings, discovery (requests and answers), e-filings to be filed (drafting and exhibits), and general correspondence, • Assist attorneys in preparing for trials and hearings, including drafting witness lists and exhibit lists, • E-file legal documents in various courts (pleadings, motions, praecipes, etc.), • Minimum of 5+ years’ experience as a litigation legal assistant, • Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, customer service, proofreading, time management, and organizational skills, • Solid understanding of civil litigation (state and federal calendar deadlines and rules), • Ability to occasionally work over 35 hours per week to meet client demands, • High proficiency in MS Suite, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat, and document management software

Drafting and proofreading legal documents, pleadings, motions, and correspondence to ensure accuracy., 2. Assisting attorneys in preparing for trials, hearings, mediations, and depositions., 3. Managing complex calendars, coordinating meetings, court dates, and travel arrangements., 4. Conducting legal research and gathering relevant information to support case preparation., 5. Maintaining organized and up-to-date case files and documentation., 6. Liaising with clients, court officials, and other legal professionals in a professional manner., 7. Ensuring compliance with court rules and legal procedures in all documents and filings., 8. Assisting with billing and invoicing processes, tracking billable hours accurately. Qualifications: To be considered for this role, you must possess the following qualifications: 1. 5+ years experience as a legal secretary, preferably in litigation and/or labor and employment law., 2. Exceptional legal drafting skills with a keen eye for detail., 3. Proficiency in using legal research tools and software., 4. Strong knowledge and understanding of legal procedures, terminologies, and court system., 5. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines., 6. Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients, attorneys, and court officials., 7. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and legal case management software., 8. A proactive approach to work, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team., 9. High level of discretion and confidentiality for handling sensitive information., 10. Paralegal certification or equivalent is highly desirable.
