Job Description Job Title: Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) Setting: Detox/Residential Treatment Facility Location: Encino, CA Schedule: Full-Time, AM & Swing Shift available Pay: $21/hour About Us We are a leading behavioral health and substance use treatment facility in Tarzana, CA. Position Summary We are seeking a dedicated Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) to join our team. The BHT is responsible for monitoring and supporting clients throughout detox and residential treatment, ensuring safety, structure, and a therapeutic environment. This role is ideal for individuals who are compassionate, dependable, and eager to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others. Key Responsibilities • Monitor client safety and well-being, including conducting routine checks and observations., • Support admissions, discharges, and client orientations., • Accurately document client behavior, daily activities, and incidents in compliance with facility standards., • Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation as needed, following established protocols., • Assist with group activities, daily schedules, and transportation when necessary., • Maintain a clean, safe, and supportive living environment in line with DHCS and Joint Commission standards., • Collaborate with clinical and nursing staff to support individualized treatment plans., • Model professionalism, healthy boundaries, and recovery-oriented behavior. Qualifications • RADT (Registered Alcohol/Drug Technician) or equivalent certification required., • High school diploma or equivalent required; coursework in psychology, counseling, or related field preferred., • Prior experience in detox, residential, or behavioral health settings strongly preferred., • Knowledge of addiction, recovery, and co-occurring mental health disorders a plus., • Strong interpersonal, communication, and documentation skills., • Ability to remain calm and professional in crisis situations., • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record preferred., • CPR/First Aid certification preferred.
