Job Description Job SummaryThe R&D Project Manager will support complex, high-priority projects within the Global Foods R&D portfolio. This role is responsible for applying technical expertise and coordinating cross-functional teams—including Sectors, Sensory, Regulatory, and Functional groups—to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget. The ideal candidate has a STEM background, experience in R&D within a consumer packaged goods (CPG) company, and a strong execution mindset rooted in project management principles. Key Responsibilities • Support project kick-offs and define goals, scope, milestones, and deliverables, • Collaborate with project leaders to define tasks and resource requirements, • Manage scope and change control to prevent unnecessary scope creep, • Establish project governance including meeting cadence, documentation, and communication protocols, • Facilitate meetings, track actions, and escalate issues to leadership as needed, • Build and maintain project workplans and timelines, identifying parallel opportunities and dependencies, • Engage stakeholders across global and regional teams at key project stages, • Prepare materials for decision-making forums and Stage Gate governance, • Navigate the R&D organization to foster collaboration across functions and geographies, • Lead risk workshops and manage ongoing mitigation plans, • Support issue resolution and manage interdependencies across projects, • Track project deliverables using appropriate tools and KPIs, • Capture and communicate lessons learned from innovation projects Required Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred in a STEM discipline, • 5–7 years of experience in the food industry or similar CPG environment, • Experience in R&D product/process development, commercialization, or productivity initiatives, • Familiarity with MS Project, Planner, and/or Smartsheet, • Strong stakeholder management and leadership communication skills, • Experience coordinating cross-regional/global teams, • Ability to manage complex programs with multiple dependencies, • Skilled in interpreting technical data and driving alignment across teams, • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills, • Strong written and verbal communication skills, • Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple projects, • Experience across multiple food/snacking formats, • Proficiency in Smartsheet and Timeline Pro, • Familiarity with PMI methodology, • PMP certification or eligibility to obtain, • Knowledge of Product Development Process or similar science/technology workflows, • Project Management Professional (PMP) – preferred, • PMI methodology – familiarity preferred Education: Bachelors Degree Certification: Project Management Professional Company DescriptionCompunnel Inc., established in 1994; is a leading provider of Staffing, IT/Software, e-Learning/Training, Business Intelligence, and Cloud Solutions.
