Job DescriptionMaintenance WorkerPay: $23.50 – $24.50 per hour Location: Sacramento, CA 95814 Schedule: Monday through Friday, day shift, with occasional on-call Start: May 8, 2026 Job Type: Temp-to-Hire Pay Frequency: Weekly payAbout the RoleShareSTAFF is hiring Maintenance Workers for a public housing authority in Sacramento. In this advanced general maintenance role, you will maintain and repair Agency-owned residential and commercial buildings while keeping grounds and landscaped areas in top condition. The work spans plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, drywall, painting, and lock and hardware repair, plus outdoor seasonal upkeep and occasional emergency response. This is a temp-to-hire opportunity with potential to convert into a permanent classified position.What You'll Do • Complete repairs across plumbing, electrical, HVAC, appliance, and roofing systems, • Perform carpentry work including doors, cabinets, counter tops, shelving, and floor tile, • Patch, paint, and finish drywall and other interior and exterior surfaces, • Repair and replace locks, hardware, windows, doors, screens, blinds, and drapes, • Inspect units for HUD compliance and complete unit turnover maintenance and repair, • Maintain grounds and landscaped areas including lawns, trees, shrubs, and irrigation systems, • Operate and maintain hand tools, power tools, and Agency vehicles to complete assigned work, • Respond to tenant emergencies and lock-outs and perform on-call duties as scheduledWhat You Bring - Required, • Minimum 3 years of general maintenance experience covering plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, drywall, and locks and hardware, • High school diploma or GED, • Valid California driver's license with a driving record acceptable to the Agency's insurance carrier, • Able to lift up to 50 lbs to chest height and perform physical labor throughout the shift, • Available for occasional on-call coverage and emergency response, • Comfortable working outdoors in a variety of weather conditions, • Must be able to complete client-specific pre-placement requirementsWhat You Bring - Preferred, • Prior experience in public housing, affordable housing, or HUD-regulated property maintenance, • Familiarity with computerized work order systems and hand-held devices for job documentation, • Experience with electronic systems such as gate controllers, alarms, and video surveillance, • Concrete and asphalt repair experience, • Bilingual English and SpanishWhat We Offer, • Weekly pay - every Friday, • Medical, dental, and vision benefits for eligible employees, • Temp-to-hire opportunities with many of our client partners, • Dedicated recruiter support throughout your assignment, • Referral bonuses - earn extra when you refer a friendAbout ShareSTAFFShareSTAFF has been a trusted staffing partner for businesses across California's Central Valley and Bay Area for more than a decade.
