Job Description Job Summary: San Bernardino City Unified School District is seeking a creative, dedicated, and inspiring Theatre/Drama Teacher to deliver high-quality, standards-based theatre education across multiple district sites. This itinerant position involves integrating theatre instruction into the broader educational experience, enhancing student creativity, confidence, and appreciation for the dramatic arts. Responsibilities: • Develop, plan, and implement a comprehensive theatre curriculum aligned with the California Visual and Performing Arts Framework., • Create an engaging and inclusive learning environment that fosters artistic expression and student enthusiasm for theatre and drama., • Utilize innovative instructional methodologies, including the effective integration of technology in theatre education., • Select appropriate instructional materials, texts, and technology to support theatre curriculum and student learning objectives., • Regularly evaluate student performance, adapting instructional strategies based on data and student needs., • Prepare and organize student participation in school site performances, district-wide showcases, and regional events., • Collaborate closely with administrators, colleagues, and families to support student success and enhance program effectiveness., • Attend scheduled Visual and Performing Arts (VAPA) department meetings and actively participate in district VAPA activities., • Valid California Single Subject Credential in Theatre or English., • English Language Learner (EL) Authorization (BCLAD, CLAD, or equivalent)., • Bachelor of Arts Degree in Theatre Arts, Theatre Education, or English., • Proven experience or strong interest in teaching theatre, drama, or performing arts., • Ability to effectively integrate theatre arts with classroom curriculum and instructional technologies., • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills., • Ability to actively engage in instructional activities, including prolonged periods of standing, demonstrating dramatic techniques, and managing classroom activities., • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred., • Competitive annual salary range: $62,900 – $117,259, based on education, credentials, and experience., • Additional annual stipend of $1,000 available for educators holding a Doctorate Degree., • Employment Type: Certificated, Itinerant, • Length of Work Year: Full-Time, 184 workdays (10 months), • Reports To: District VAPA Coordinator Application Information: Interested applicants should click the "Apply" button on School Gig and submit the following required documents: • Letter of Intent, • Updated Resume, • Two recent letters of recommendation, • Copy of California Teaching Credential (current), • Unofficial transcripts
