Job Description Employment Opportunity Warehouse Manager Job Description: VIA is seeking a Warehouse Manager to work on a full time basis. Reporting to VP of Manufacturing, Distribution & Business Development, the Warehouse Manager plans, coordinates, and oversees the receiving, storage, and distribution of goods. This hands-on leadership role ensures warehouse operations meet quality, safety, and performance standards while directly supervising warehouse staff and supporting overall operational objectives. Essential Functions: Leadership & People Management • Directly supervise warehouse and distribution staff, including scheduling, payroll approval, and management of vacation and personal leave to balance operational and customer needs, • Recruit, interview, hire, train, and onboard staff who demonstrate required competencies and alignment with agency values, • Provide ongoing training through staff meetings and individual coaching to build skills, reinforce best practices, and achieve annual goals, • Monitor employee performance against established standards; provide timely feedback, recognition, and corrective coaching, • Allocate personnel and resources based on workload, priorities, and individual skill sets, • Ensure accurate and timely receiving, storage, and distribution of products, • Oversee inbound and outbound inventory, including stock rotation (FIFO), warehouse organization, and space utilization, • Manage physical inventory processes, including cycle counts and full inventories, • Monitor and control inventory levels, transportation costs, and delivery timelines, • Identify inventory discrepancies, shrinkage, or overstock conditions and recommend corrective actions, • Manage the product returns process, • Serve as a hands-on leader to ensure adherence to safety policies and safe operation of material handling equipmen, • Oversee material handling equipment and racking systems, including inspections, maintenance coordination, and compliance training, • Develop, implement, and monitor warehouse and supply chain procedures to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and compliance, • Prepare, analyze, and report data related to inventory, shipping, productivity, and warehouse performance, • Coordinate with Customers, Customer Service, Finance, and other departments to align priorities and meet service expectations, • Stay current with customer requirements and service standards, • Serve as backup support to the Production and Distribution Manager and Product and Project Director, • Collaborate with leadership to align warehouse operations with production schedules, agency goals, and mission, • Provide support across the agency as needed to achieve departmental and organizational objectives, • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and warehouse management systems, • Working knowledge of quality systems, industry standards, and health and safety regulations, • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, • Excellent organizational and time management abilities, • Proven leadership skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team, • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present information effectively to staff, vendors, and customers, • Demonstrated ability to train staff and promote accuracy, accountability, and best practices, • Commitment to excellent customer service, • Ability to work effectively within a diverse population Qualifications: • High School Diploma or equivalent, • Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment, • Minimum of two (2) years of experience with warehousing and shipping operations, • Prior forklift experience preferred, • Forklift certification required within three (3) months of start date VIA is an Equal Opportunity Employer, and as such affirms the right of every person to participate in all aspects of employment without regard to race, religion, color, national origin, citizenship, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, veteran status, disability, genetic information, or any other protected characteristic.
