The division is one of 21 institutions to serve as a core sire of the Children's Oncology Group Pediatric Early Phase Clinical Trials Network (PEP-CTN). Research Responsibilities Laboratory-based research efforts will focus on the molecular biology of gene therapy for malignant and non-malignant diseases with the goal of include establishing a platform for tracking clonal expansion and monitoring transgene integration and expression in gene therapy trials, as well as participating in the development of novel strategies for the treatment of globin disorders. Research projects will be conducted under the mentorship of senior investigators at CUIMC and CICET, including Drs. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in collecting and analyzing in situ bio-optical data and in developing bio-optical models to assess phytoplankton functional types (PFTs) and net primary production (NPP) from space. A strong background in radiative transfer theory, optical oceanography, phytoplankton eco-physiology and the development and application of remote sensing algorithms is highly essential. The candidate should be proficient in working with data from a range of satellite sensors, with particular emphasis on hyperspectral instruments such as HICO, EMIT and PACE. Experience in integrating satellite observations with in-situ measurements to advance understanding of marine ecosystem dynamics and carbon cycling will be highly valued. Clinical responsibilities include providing genetic counseling services to patients and family members in the multiple adult specialty genetics clinics in CPMG and Department of Medicine.
