Location: Houston, TX (Montrose / 77019) Hours: Full‐time (40 hours/week) including weekends; flexible schedule required to cover hours of operation (usually between 6 AM–9 PM. on certain days) Reports to: Director of Operations About Us Löyly Sauna Lounge is a premier contrast-therapy, social-wellness destination in the heart of Houston’s Montrose neighborhood. Role Summary As Assistant Manager, you will be a key leadership partner to the Director of Operations and will take an active role in leading, supporting, and growing our team and business. You will own core operational responsibilities (facility & equipment maintenance, team productivity, business operations), you will also drive the revenue side of the business (lead by example in sales and client-facing interactions, hold the team accountable to sales and profitability goals), and you will champion our mission and culture at every touchpoint. Key Responsibilities Team Leadership & Culture • Lead, support, and mentor front-line staff (core, support, and lead teams) in daily operations, service excellence, and sales performance., • Promote a highly engaged, customer‐centric, values‐based team culture aligned with Löyly’s mission of social wellness, community, and ritual., • Model our brand voice, high-touch client experience, and behavioral standards at all times., • Hold the team accountable to operational standards, membership conversion goals, Google review targets, and guest care excellence. Operational Management • Oversee and maintain facility and equipment (sauna, cold plunge, showers, lockers, amenities), ensuring cleanliness, safety, functionality, and strong guest experience., • Coordinate with external vendors, schedule and oversee preventative maintenance, troubleshoot operational issues, and escalate as needed., • Manage inventory (towels, supplies, consumables, retail products), preparing orders and stocking processes., • Assist with scheduling, shift planning, opening/closing procedures, quality control, and front desk operations., • Ensure adherence to all health, safety, and regulatory standards, maintain incident logs, and escalate maintenance or repair issues in a timely fashion. Sales / Revenue Growth • Lead by example in client-facing sales: greeting new guests, membership consultations, service upgrades, retail sales, and conversion of first-time clients., • Develop, implement, and track revenue-generating initiatives (e.g., membership drives, referral incentives, event sales, corporate packages)., • Monitor key performance indicators (memberships, drop-in sessions, retail sales, reviews), work with Director of Operations to identify gaps, and coach team accordingly with pace., • Represent Löyly at external events, partnerships, community activations, and brand collaborations to drive awareness and lead generation., • Support and collaborate with marketing and the Director of Operations to execute events, programming, and brand activations. Schedule and Flexibility • Commitment to 40 hours per week, including weekends, early mornings, and evenings as needed, within the hours of operation. Our hours of operation are Monday-Friday 6AM-9PM, Saturdays 8AM-9PM, and Sundays 10AM-7PM., • Anticipate hiring needs and support hiring process., • Lead new team member training., • Flexibility to adjust shifts based on business needs (early hours, late hours, event support) and stepping in for operations when required., • Ability to respond (or have availability) in urgent operational situations (equipment malfunctions, guest service escalation, vendor issues) in partnership with leadership. Qualifications & Skills • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a leadership or supervisory role in a wellness, spa, hospitality, sales, or membership-driven business., • Proven track record of sales and revenue growth; comfortable and experienced in direct client sales and coaching a team in sales., • Strong operational aptitude: managing facility/maintenance, inventory, team scheduling, vendor coordination, and event execution., • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills; ability to coach, motivate, and hold a team accountable while maintaining a positive culture., • Customer-centric mindset with high standards for service, experience, and brand representation., • Experience with booking platforms and CRMs is preferred., • Flexible schedule, reliable attendance, and ability to work weekends/early mornings/late evenings., • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment with multiple priorities., • Alignment with the mission and values of social wellness, community building, and ritual — a passion for wellness, recovery, and guest experience is a must.
