Job DescriptionDescription: General Manager – New Restaurant Opening Green Coyote Cantina – Avondale Decatur, GA Opening April 2026 Green Coyote Cantina Avondale is bringing bold flavors, great music, and true Tex-Mex hospitality to Decatur in April 2026. We are building a neighborhood gathering place where guests come early, stay late, and feel right at home. At Green Coyote, it’s about having fun, kicking up your heels, and howling at the moon with friends and family. Inspired by the cantinas of Far West Texas, we serve scratch-made Tex-Mex, premium margaritas, and cold Mexican beers in a lively, welcoming atmosphere. With classic outlaw music and a world-class patio, our goal is simple: create a place where great food, great drinks, and genuine hospitality come together. We’re looking for a General Manager who is a true restaurant professional — someone who has worked every position in the building, understands the heart of hospitality, and knows how to build a positive, high-performing team culture. This is an exciting opportunity to lead the opening of a new restaurant, build the team from the ground up, and create a lasting neighborhood destination. Salary: $60,000 – $80,000 annually (based on experience) + bonus eligibility + insurance benefits Position Overview The General Manager is the most trusted member of the leadership team and is responsible for the restaurant's overall success. This role oversees daily operations, financial performance, team development, guest experience, and operational standards. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment and leads by example. They inspire teams, maintain strong operational discipline, and create memorable experiences for both guests and staff. Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Management • Drive sales while maintaining company targets for labor, food, beverage, and operating costs, • Manage P&L performance and identify opportunities to improve profitability, • Ensure all invoices, payroll, and administrative reporting are completed accurately and on time, • Monitor inventory, purchasing, and cost control Operations • Oversee all daily restaurant operations, including scheduling, service execution, and quality standards, • Maintain high standards for cleanliness, food quality, and guest experience, • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations, • Investigate and resolve guest concerns and service issues, • Oversee restaurant systems, including Toast POS, inventory, and payroll systemsFood & Beverage, • Maintain consistent execution of scratch-made food and beverage programs, • Ensure proper food handling, sanitation practices, and kitchen standards, • Manage ordering and relationships with food and beverage distributors, • Monitor food and beverage costing and inventory levelsTeam Leadership & Development, • Recruit, interview, hire, and onboard both FOH and BOH team members, • Lead, mentor, and develop managers and hourly employees, • Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing coaching, • Create a positive, respectful workplace culture aligned with company values, • Ensure consistent training and professional developmentGuest Experience, • Maintain a strong presence on the floor during service, • Foster relationships with regular guests and the local community, • Ensure every shift delivers an outstanding hospitality experienceQualifications, • 8–10 years of full-service restaurant management experience, • Proven experience as a General Manager in a high-volume restaurant, • New restaurant opening experience strongly preferred, • Strong understanding of P&L management and financial reporting, • Experience with POS systems, inventory management, and scheduling platforms, • Excellent leadership, coaching, and communication skills, • Ability to build and maintain a strong, positive restaurant culture, • College degree preferred but not requiredWhat We’re Looking For, • A true restaurant person who leads from the floor, • A hands-on leader who doesn’t rely on others to do the work for them, • Someone who thrives on building teams and developing future leaders, • A hospitality professional who values integrity, accountability, and respectBenefits, • Health, Dental, and Vision Insurance (after 60 days), • Paid Vacation, • Performance-Based Bonus Program, • Opportunity to lead a brand-new restaurant opening If you are passionate about hospitality, leadership, and building great restaurant teams, we would love to meet you.
