Job Description Cooling Tower Technician Location: Greater Austin, Texas Pay: $25–$32/hr + Overtime + Benefits + Vehicle This role requires direct, hands-on installation AND commissioning experience on cooling tower systems. Candidates without field installation and startup experience on cooling towers will not be considered. Cooling Tower Commissioning Technician – Field-Based (Industrial & Commercial Systems) Field-based mechanical commissioning technician responsible for startup, testing, troubleshooting, and performance validation of cooling tower systems across industrial and commercial sites. Role centers on post-installation commissioning, system optimization, and resolving mechanical issues under live operating conditions. Core Responsibilities • Execute commissioning and startup of cooling tower systems following installation, rebuild, or retrofit, • Perform system walkdowns and verify mechanical completion prior to startup, • Conduct functional testing of fans, motors, gearboxes, drive systems, and associated components, • Diagnose and resolve mechanical issues during commissioning, including vibration, alignment, and performance deficiencies, • Perform precision alignment of fans, shafts, and rotating assemblies to meet operational tolerances, • Validate operation of VFD-driven systems and support integration during commissioning, • Install and set mechanical components as required to support commissioning readiness (motors, gearboxes, couplings, bearings), • Document commissioning activities, test results, and corrective actions, • Execute tower rebuilds, retrofits, and mechanical repairs as needed to achieve system readiness, • U.S. Citizenship or Green Card, • Direct hands-on commissioning AND installation of cooling tower systems (mandatory), • Minimum 2+ years of field experience in cooling towers, millwright work, or industrial mechanical environments (mandatory), • Strong experience with rotating equipment including fans, drives, and motors, • Working knowledge of VFD-driven systems in field applications, • Ability to read and execute mechanical drawings and technical documentation, • Valid driver’s license Company DescriptionLibertyjobs.com has become an essential destination site for experienced job seekers.
