Job Summary: An Assistant Store Manager reports to the Store Manager and supports the manager with the aim of improving business performance and customer satisfaction and holding to Hollywood Feed’s #1 Policy “Do what is right by the customer.” Assistant Store Manager Responsibilities: • General tasks include supervising employees, communicating with, and helping customers, and conducting directives given by the Store Manager., • Coordinates and oversees the day-to-day workflow of subordinate employees in the department., • As requested by the Store Manager, conducts, or assists with performance evaluations that are timely and constructive. Inventory Management: ○ Check out Customer Purchases ○ Create Customer Accounts ○ Open and Close Registers • Perform other inventory management duties including inventories and cycle counts., • Contributes to the team effort of placing and rotating merchandise to attract positive attention from customers and accomplishing related results as needed., • Ensures availability of merchandise and services by maintaining inventory data through spot inventory counts and checks., • Oversees employees by leading and maintaining excellent customer service skills., • Fosters and cultivates a positive sales team with the expectation of growing store sales through proper training, communication, incentives, and empowering your employees to take responsibility for their job and the store’s goals., • Communicate openly and respectfully with supervisors, corporate office, and coworkers., • Holding the employees to the Hollywood Feed Standards of Business with a clean, organized, and safe location to ensure the protection of both customers and employees., • Keeping the store running smoothly and ensuring that all daily required tasks are completed properly through communication with the employees., • Ensuring that all Hollywood Feed policies and procedures are being followed, including compliance with legal requirements., • Searching for avenues to reach out into the community by attending or creating events to interact with the public via social media and maintain the store’s online presence., • Greeting and assisting customer needs and resolving issues, ensuring positive and long-term customer relationships, thus being a model for all employees to follow., • Coach, support, and manages conflicts to resolve complaints about or within the store location regarding employees., • The love and dedication to animals is an essential requirement for Hollywood Feed’s culture., • Excellent verbal and written communication skills., • Ability to create and present ideas, and reports in various formats., • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with employees., • Excellent time management skills with the ability to assign and delegate tasks., • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail., • Must be at least 18 years of age or older., • High School Diploma or GED is required, • 1+ year(s) management experience in food service, retail, or restaurant preferred, • Physically able to lift 40lbs repeatedly up to head height to stock shelves multiples times a day and unload delivery pallets., • Physically able to continuously bend, kneel, push, pull, reach, and twist multiples times a day., • Physically able to stand/walk for up to 8-10 hours. Required to work a minimum of 40 hours per week., • Physically able to climb ladders multiple times a day to put up and access products for customers.
