LSI’s management team is focused on continued profitable growth. We are looking for a Woodshop Supervisor to support our team at our location in Cranston, RI. Position Overview: The Wood Shop Supervisor leads daily production operations in the wood shop at EMI Industries, a division of LSI Industries, located in Cranston, RI. This role is responsible for supervising the wood shop team, overseeing the fabrication and assembly of custom millwork and wood fixture components, maintaining quality and safety standards, coordinating workflow with other production departments, and supporting overall manufacturing and delivery goals in a custom millwork, metal fabrication, refrigeration, and store fixtures environment Essential Job Functions: • Lead the wood shop team by assigning tasks, providing supervision, technical guidance, coaching, and performance feedback to ensure high productivity, quality, safety, and morale., • Ensure employees observe and comply with OSHA standards, company safety regulations, and all applicable workplace safety requirements, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) in the wood shop environment., • Plan, schedule, and prioritize daily work orders to meet production deadlines and customer delivery requirements in coordination with the Plant Manager and Customer Service team., • Oversee the fabrication, milling, shaping, assembly, and finishing of custom millwork, cabinetry, wood fixtures, and store displays in accordance with engineering drawings, shop tickets, and quality standards., • Set up, operate, and ensure proper maintenance and safe use of wood shop machinery and equipment, including table saws, routers, CNC routers, shapers, sanders, and finishing equipment., • Complete additional tasks assigned by the Plant Manager or Operations leadership., • Monitor and maintain inventory of wood materials, hardware, adhesives, and shop supplies; communicate material needs to procurement and management to prevent production delays., • Inspect finished products for quality, dimensional accuracy, and cosmetic standards; identify and resolve defects or non-conformances before products are moved to shipping or the next production stage., • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment by enforcing 5S standards, housekeeping practices, and dust collection procedures., • Collaborate with other department supervisors, production planners, and engineering to resolve workflow issues and support on-time delivery of customer orders., • Display a sense of urgency in completing tasks, assist in developing solutions to operational problems, and assure the quality of work meets company standards and specifications., • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or vocational training in woodworking, manufacturing, or a related field preferred., • 3–5 years of experience in a wood shop, millwork, cabinetry, or custom fixture manufacturing environment, with at least 1–2 years in a supervisory or lead role., • Demonstrated knowledge of wood shop machinery, tools, and processes, including CNC router operation, milling, assembly, and finishing techniques., • Proven leadership and human relations skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment., • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards., • Good verbal and written communication skills., • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications., • Ability to perform basic math calculations related to measurements, material quantities, and production metrics., • Forklift certification preferred or ability to obtain certification., • Experience with custom retail store fixtures, millwork, or architectural woodworking in a manufacturing setting preferred., • Familiarity with ERP or MRP systems for tracking work orders and inventory preferred., • Experience with Lean Manufacturing or continuous improvement methodologies preferred., • Perform other duties as required to support business needs.
