Job Details: The Evening Transfer Driver is primarily responsible for transport of products between our 3 facilities in Syracuse and spotting trailers into dock doors for loading. Schedule: 3:00 PM - 12:30 AM Sunday-Thursday Starting Pay: $29.00 per hour Major Duties & Responsibilities: • Complete driving assignments as directed., • Maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner that enhances relationships with lease partners, co-workers and managers., • Conduct self in a manner that is consistent with the company’s goal to maintain a safe environment and conditions, and comply with all transportation and company safety requirements, • Keep accurate and legal FMCSA log and inspection reports, using electronic logging software., • Maintain in excellent condition and ensure the safety of all property assigned to the Driver., • Keep inside of both vehicle cabs and boxes clean and organized., • Use power pallet jacks to load or unload company vehicles., • Responsible to report all motor vehicle, safety, or personal vehicle violations immediately to supervisor (on or off duty)., • Assist warehouse team with loading, unloading or other duties as may be assigned Essential Job Knowledge • Strong attention to detail, • Strong time management skills, • Be certifiable in use of power pallet jacks, • Able to meet physical requirements for sitting, climbing, standing and walking every day, • Able to read and write the English language and do standard mathematical computations, • Required to keep mobile communication resources, including cell phone, in assigned truck or on driver’s person to maintain communication with company personnel, • Able to work in adverse weather conditions; both heat and cold Education & Experience • Possess CDL Class A Driver’s License with air brake certification., • One year of verifiable CDL Class A (air brakes) experience preferred, but not required, • An excellent driving record with no preventable accidents within 1 year and no D.U.I. or suspension over 30 days within the past 3 years., • Pre-employment medical examination: A successful FMSCA - approved drug screen and pre-employment physical examination., • Successful completion of all written tests and a comprehensive road test., • Be well-versed in all rules and regulations governing the operation of commercial vehicles upon the highways. Key Responsibilities • Operate delivery trucks to transport finished dairy products, raw materials, and supplies between ESL dairy processing facilities, distribution centers, and warehouse locations while maintaining proper refrigeration and handling requirements., • Load and unload products using forklifts, pallet jacks, and manual handling techniques, coordinating with facility receiving and shipping departments to ensure accurate product transfers and inventory management between ESL locations., • Execute daily delivery routes and schedules between ESL facilities, optimizing travel time and fuel efficiency while ensuring timely delivery of products to support production schedules and inventory requirements at each location., • Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections including refrigeration unit functionality, checking delivery manifests against actual loads, and maintaining compliance with company safety standards and DOT regulations., • Maintain accurate shipping and receiving documentation including transfer orders, product temperature logs, and facility-to-facility delivery records, ensuring proper inventory tracking and chain of custody within ESL/Aseptic internal supply chain., • GED or High School is preferred., • Possess a valid CDL-A license with air brake endorsement., • Become licensed to operate various M.H.E.
