Job Description High-rise Building Engineer A prestigious high-rise condominium association in Las Vegas, Nevada, is seeking applicants for a full-time engineer position. This position is scheduled for 40 hours per week, Wednesday through Sunday, with Monday and Tuesday off, 8 am to 4 pm. Depending on experience, the pay range for this position after a successful 90-day introductory period is $28.00 to $32.00 per hour. Requirements: 1. Minimum 1 year of building engineer experience., 2. Experience with building HVAC, electrical and plumbing required. A CPO license and experience with pools, spas and fountains preferred., 3. The physical ability to bend, stoop, squat, walk long distances, climb stairs, dig with shovels, work basic equipment, including landscaping equipment, such as lawnmowers, edgers, etc., get into and work in small spaces, lift up to 25 lbs. regularly, and lift up to 50 lbs. on occasion., 4. The normal work schedule is Wednesday through Sunday, off Monday and Tuesday, 8 am to 4 pm. Must have he ability to work different hours if needed, including being called in for emergencies, which could include overtime., 5. Be able to arrive at work, ready to work, in a clean uniform at the scheduled time. Although the Company tries to maintain as stable a schedule as possible for all staff members, shifts will always be assigned for the maximum benefit of the Company., 6. Be able to effectively communicate with co-workers, other staff members, Management, and residents/homeowners and guests in a professional and respectful manner at all times. This will include communications with vendors and outside contractors., 7. The ability and attitude to learn and take constructive direction and criticism, with a positive attitude and demeanor in order to learn whatever is needed to maintain a congenial workplace., 8. The willingness and ability to follow the Company’s Mission Statement and core values in order to present the Company’s true Corporate Culture., 9. The willingness and ability to document all work, work with contractors and vendors, receive and sign off on work done by outside contractors, document receipt of purchases and supplies, and all other required documentation., 10. All other duties and requirements as assigned., 11. A 90-day trial period is required. Under certain circumstances, this trial period may be extended for another 90 days up to two (2) additional trial periods. Monetary Compensation: 1. Depending on experience, the pay range for this position after a successful 90-day introductory period is $28.00 to $32.00 per hour., 2. The Company pays overtime (1 ½ times regular hourly wage) for all hours worked over 40 hours per week. This is for hours actually worked and does not include non-worked hours, such as Vacation, Sick, or Holiday., 3. If an employee goes home after completing a shift, and then is called back in, an additional two (2) hours will be paid to the employee to cover the additional time for travel and arrangement inconvenience beyond the hours actually worked on the call-in., 4. There are seven (7) paid Holidays per year. If the employee works on a Holiday, which is likely, as this is a 24/7 Company, the employee receives the regular wage for working and the Holiday pay. At no time will Holiday pay be considered overtime., 5. Every year, an analysis of cost-of-living increases is performed. If it is determined that a cost-of-living increase is warranted, and the Board of Directors approves this increase with the upcoming year’s Annual Budget, then said increase will be applied on the first (1st) pay period in which the Budget is applicable., 6. This is a non-tipping establishment. All staff are prohibited from accepting tips and can be terminated for accepting tips., 7. Although employment reviews are done each year, reviews that may result in a tiered hourly wage increase are done at 90 days, 2.5 years, 7 years, and 10 years. Other reviews may or may not result in an hourly wage increase., 8. Generally speaking, all employees receive a Holiday Bonus in mid-December, but this is not guaranteed, and amounts are to be determined during each applicable year. Nevada is an “at-will” state, and no jobs or schedules are ever guaranteed. At no time will any discrimination of any kind, including, but not limited to, sexual, racial, ethnic, religious, gender, age, political, or disability, be allowed, and such actions are grounds for immediate termination. Benefits (Non-Monetary Compensation): 1. After a 90-day trial period (or inclusive of any trial period extensions), health, dental, and vision insurance will be offered. At the present time, the Company pays almost 100% of the cost of these benefits, with the employee only paying $25.00 per pay period (26 a year) . However, this is for the employee only. Any full-time employee can add family, spouses, and dependents to these insurances, but the employee pays the full cost (which is at the Company group rates) for any family, spouse, or dependent added to the insurance., 2. The employee begins to accrue Vacation and Sick time to use in the future after the 90-day trial period (or inclusive of any trial period extensions). All Vacation time must be pre-approved at least one month in advance by the supervisor, Human Resources, and the General Manager. Accrued Sick time may be used as needed (within the Company’s restrictions). Sick time accrual is a set amount and never increases with tenure; however, Vacation time is tiered on a set schedule with a defined tenure. At no time will Vacation or Sick Pay ever be considered overtime., 3. The Company offers the ability for each employee who works over 1,000 hours per year to contribute to the Company’s SIMPLE IRA through payroll reduction contributions. The Company provides a matching contribution up to the lesser of what the employee contributes or 3% of the employee’s gross annual pay. The employee meets with a licensed representative and decides which funds the employee wants to contribute to. This is offered after all trial periods have been completed., 4. The Company pays for up to $15,000 of Life and AD&D insurance for each full-time employee (amounts determined by insurance Age restrictions for group policies) after all trial periods have been completed.
