Position Overview The Director of Marketing will lead the strategic development and execution of all marketing initiatives for Bono USA across retail, e-commerce, and food service channels. This individual will be responsible for brand strategy, demand generation, product marketing, digital marketing, trade marketing, and consumer engagement to accelerate growth in the U.S. market. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on marketing leader with prior food CPG experience, capable of building brand equity while supporting sales growth through retail, distributor, and omnichannel marketing initiatives. This role is hybrid and based in Montclair, NJ, working closely with the executive team, sales leadership, and international stakeholders. Key Responsibilities Brand & Strategic Marketing • Develop and execute the U.S. brand strategy for Bono’s portfolio of olive oils and specialty Italian foods., • Position the brand as a leader in premium Mediterranean and specialty food categories., • Lead annual marketing planning including brand positioning, messaging, and campaign strategy., • Identify opportunities for product innovation and portfolio expansion based on consumer insights and category trends.Demand Generation & Retail Marketing, • Create integrated marketing programs that drive retail sell-through and consumer awareness., • Partner with the Sales team to support key retail partners including natural, specialty, and conventional grocery chains., • Lead trade marketing programs, retailer promotions, and in-store marketing initiatives., • Support category reviews and retailer presentations with consumer insights and marketing strategy.Digital & Consumer Marketing, • Lead the company’s digital marketing strategy, including:, • Social media, • Influencer partnerships, • Paid digital campaigns, • SEO/SEM, • Email marketing, • Drive e-commerce growth through online retailers and direct-to-consumer initiatives., • Manage digital storytelling that highlights authenticity, traceability, and regional sourcing.Product Marketing & Launches, • Develop go-to-market strategies for new product launches., • Oversee packaging updates, brand storytelling, and product positioning., • Collaborate with product development and sourcing teams on innovation opportunities.Trade Shows & Industry Events, • Manage marketing presence at major industry events including:, • Specialty food trade shows, • Retail buyer events, • Culinary and Mediterranean food events, • Oversee booth strategy, promotional materials, and brand activation.Analytics & Performance, • Track and analyze key marketing KPIs including:, • Brand awareness, • Retail velocity, • Digital engagement, • ROI on campaigns, • Use data insights to optimize marketing spend and strategy.Team Leadership, • Build and lead the marketing team as the company scales., • Manage relationships with external agencies including PR, creative, and digital partners., • Partner closely with executive leadership to align marketing with overall business strategy.Qualifications Required • 8–12+ years of marketing experience in Food or Beverage CPG, • Proven experience building or scaling consumer brands in retail channels, • Experience with specialty food, premium grocery, natural foods, or Mediterranean categories, • Strong expertise in:, • Brand marketing, • Trade marketing, • Digital marketing, • Consumer insights, • Experience supporting national retail distribution and distributor networks, • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Business, or related fieldPreferred, • Experience with olive oil, specialty foods, or imported food brands, • Experience working with natural/specialty retailers (Whole Foods, specialty grocers, etc.), • MBA or advanced marketing degree, • Experience in fast-growth or entrepreneurial CPG environmentsKey Competencies, • Strategic thinking with strong execution skills, • Brand storytelling and consumer marketing expertise, • Retail and trade marketing knowledge, • Data-driven decision making, • Entrepreneurial mindset, • Collaborative leadership styleCompensation & Benefits, • Competitive base salary + performance bonus, • Health, dental, and vision insurance, • Paid time off and holidays, • Hybrid work environment, • Opportunity to shape the growth of a premium international food brandWhy Join Bono USA, • Join a heritage Sicilian brand with nearly a century of history, • Be part of a fast-growing premium food company expanding in the U.S., • Work with authentic, high-quality Mediterranean products, • Lead the marketing strategy during a high-growth phase
