In this role, you will make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals with developmental, behavioral, and dual-diagnosis needs by supporting their daily living, independence, safety, and overall quality of life. DSPs will assist members with personal care, daily routines, behavior support, community integration, medication administration, and household tasks. This position also requires the ability to implement behavior support strategies and apply Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)-based skills such as behavior tracking, reinforcement strategies, prompting techniques, skill building, and support plan implementation. The ideal candidate is patient, observant, professional, and committed to providing person-centered care. Responsibilities • Assist members with personal hygiene, grooming, dressing, and other activities of daily living, • Support mobility, ambulation, and physical exercises as needed, • Prepare meals and snacks according to member needs and preferences, • Complete light housekeeping duties to help maintain a clean and safe environment, • Administer or assist with medication in accordance with company policy and training, • Provide companionship, emotional support, and respectful supervision, • Assist with errands, shopping, appointments, and community-based activities, • Implement individualized behavior support strategies in accordance with behavior plans, PCSPs, and clinical recommendations, • Utilize ABA-informed techniques such as positive reinforcement, redirection, prompting hierarchies, behavior reduction strategies, and skill acquisition support, • Observe, document, and collect accurate behavior data, including antecedents, behaviors, consequences, and progress toward goals, • Support members with communication, emotional regulation, and replacement behaviors, • Maintain professional documentation and communicate effectively with supervisors, clinicians, and team members, • Ensure the health, safety, dignity, and rights of all members at all timesQualifications, • 2+ years of experience as a Caregiver, DSP, BHT, RBT, or in a similar direct care role preferred, • At least 1 year of experience supporting individuals with dual diagnoses or developmental and behavioral health needs, including Autism, ADHD, schizophrenia, and related conditions, • High school diploma or equivalent preferred, • Valid Fingerprint Clearance Card required, • CPR and First Aid certification required, • Prevention and Support certification required, • Article 9 certification required, • 40-hour RBT training preferred or provided on site, • Positive Behavior Support training provided on site, • Safety-Care training provided on site, • Knowledge of ABA principles or experience applying ABA-based interventions in residential, home, school, or clinical settings preferred, • Experience with behavior data collection and documentation required, • Basic housekeeping, meal preparation, and caregiving skills, • Ability to follow health, safety, and behavioral support guidelines, • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, • Ability to lift more than 20 pounds, • Compassionate, respectful, ethical, and dependableHeres a more polished line you could also use if you want it to sound a little more clinical and stronger for hiring: Preferred Skills • Experience implementing behavior plans under the guidance of a BCBA, Clinical Director, or behavior team, • Familiarity with ABA concepts such as reinforcement, prompting, de-escalation, replacement behaviors, and data collection, • Ability to remain calm and effective while supporting individuals during behavioral escalation
