Position Summary: The Dishwasher ensures that the kitchen stays clean and organized. They set up dish stations and turn on dish cleaning machines. They spend their time loading and unloading dishes from dish machines, washing all pans or utensils that come into contact with food, and scraping identifiers off everything. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: * Provides support through ensuring that all of the dishes are properly washed, sanitized, and ready to be stocked on the floor with minimal breakage. Keeps dish area free of clutter and organized * Properly washes, stacks, and stores china, glassware, silverware, cookware, food service tools, and storage containers. * Maintaining the dish machine and three compartment sink, changing out the water when necessary. Properly sets chemical dilutions specified by business. * Clean, dust, sweep, mop, polish, scrub, wash, strip, and buff, the specified areas * Maintains the cleanliness of the kitchen floor and the removal of trash and recycling from the kitchen and restrooms. * Informing the Head Baker or General Manager of any cleaning supplies or tools are needed * Break down trash and boxes * Maintains the dry storage area and the organization of storage shelves * As requested by the chef or chef-delegated team members, assists in food prep and any other duties. * Completes any beginning or closing shift duties as directed by management. * Work together with other people on the team productively to ensure that the kitchen meets customer demand * Positive, work-focused attitude during the workday. Additional Information KIPP NYC offers a competitive hourly rate of $20–$25 for the Baker position. Hourly ranges at KIPP NYC are standardized by role level and function, and individual rates are determined with an equity lens, taking into account years of relevant experience.
