Job Description POSITION OVERVIEW The Secretary plays a vital role in ensuring the effective operation of the board of directors and alignment with the organization's strategic goals. Acting as a liaison between the Board and Executive Team, the Secretary manages governance functions, board logistics, volunteer services, and compliance with legal and regulatory standards. This position also supports the NBME Council, Finance and Audit, Nominating and Governance, and Council Engagement board committees, and leads a small staff team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing meeting agendas and minutes, facilitating communication among board members and leadership, and leveraging volunteer contributions to advance organizational objectives. The role demands strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, strategic thinking, sound judgment, discretion, and the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently. Ideal candidates will have governance experience in nonprofit or for-profit settings, team management experience, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. Position Summary: The Grant Accountant is responsible for financial oversight of grant-funded programs, ensuring compliance with all funding source guidelines, and maintaining accurate accounting records.
