American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN PCU - Progressive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Anchorage, Alaska. Job Description & Requirements • Specialty: PCU - Progressive Care Unit, • Discipline: RN, • Start Date: 01/26/2026, • Duration: 13 weeks, • 36 hours per week, • Shift: 12 hours, nights, • Position is in a Progressive Care Unit serving adult and geriatric patients, • Work alternating 12-hour day and night shifts with block scheduling, • Staffing ratio is 1:3 for days, nights, and weekends, • Patient diagnoses include CKD, ESRD, DMII, CHF, COPD, GI bleeds, and post-op cases, • Special procedures include long-term ventilator care and tracheostomies, • Float to ICU for PCU assignments may be required, • Medication system is Pyxis, • Charting system is Cerner, Epic experience preferred, • Weekend coverage required every other weekend, • Main duties include care of adults and geriatrics with chronic and post-op conditions, ventilator management, and tracheostomy care, • Navy blue scrubs are required, • Modules average 4–5 hours and are completed onsite during orientation and annually, • Must have been gone for at least 2 years before returning as a traveler if previously employed at this facility, • Every other weekend and holiday coverage expected, • First-time travelers are welcome to apply\n \n Requirements\n, • Active AK RN license required prior to start; Compact licenses accepted at submission, • Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and CPI required, • Minimum 2 years of PCU experience required, but less may be considered based on overall experience, • Trauma level II experience required, • Adult and geriatric patient care experience required, • Experience with long-term ventilators and tracheostomies required, • Must live at least 100 miles from the facility, • Locals are not accepted, • COVID vaccination required for consideration\n Benefits\n, • High Pay and Bonuses, • Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options, • 401(k) Plan, • Weekly Payroll Deposit, • Free Online CEUs, • Generous Housing Allowance, • Travel and Licensure Reimbursements, • Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy With thousands of travel nursing and allied jobs nationwide, our attentive and approachable recruiters find positions that align perfectly with your career aspirations and personal requirements.
