Job Description Assistant Plant Manager – Marine Lipid Production Location: Dutch Harbor, Alaska - Housing Available Company: Bering Select About Us At Bering Select, our mission is to produce high-quality, minimally processed omega-3 therapeutics from wild-caught fish. Position Overview We are seeking a hands-on, detail-oriented Assistant Plant Manager to support daily production operations and ensure that our facility maintains the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficiency. The ideal candidate has strong leadership skills, experience in food or nutraceutical manufacturing, and a passion for sustainability and excellence in production. Key Responsibilities • Support the Plant Manager in overseeing day-to-day operations of the marine lipid production facility., • Supervise production teams to ensure adherence to safety, quality, and regulatory standards (FDA, GMP, HACCP)., • Monitor production schedules, equipment performance, and process efficiency to meet output goals., • Assist with training, scheduling, and performance management of production staff., • Collaborate with maintenance, quality assurance, and logistics to minimize downtime and optimize throughput., • Track inventory of raw materials and finished goods; support accurate recordkeeping and reporting., • Lead continuous improvement initiatives in process optimization and cost reduction., • Act as backup to the Plant Manager during absences, ensuring uninterrupted production and compliance., • 3+ years of experience in food processing, nutraceuticals, or related manufacturing environment., • Strong understanding of production workflows, quality systems, and regulatory compliance., • Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills., • Ability to work in a fast-paced, hands-on environment in Dutch Harbor, Alaska., • Be part of a mission-driven company focused on producing sustainable, high-quality marine products., • Work in a collaborative, innovative environment with advanced technology and industry-leading processes., • Competitive compensation, benefits, and opportunities for professional growth.
