Job Description Overview CTG is seeking to fill a Maintenance Mechanic opening for our client in Forest Park, GA. Location: Forest Park, GA Duration: 6 months Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM Duties: * Proactively maintain, troubleshoot, analyze, and repair equipment to prevent, resolve, and eliminate process failures and equipment breakdowns (mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, power transmission, etc.). * Provide support to plant operations through preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, diagnosing, repairing, and improving equipment. * Execute maintenance activities including preventative maintenance inspections, planned work orders, emergency work orders, and housekeeping. * Support the planning of maintenance activities by providing feedback to maintenance planners and leading/supporting root cause analysis activities. * Track time, document work completed, and communicate effectively with team members, peers, management, and other stakeholders. * Collaborate with project teams, vendors, and other stakeholders to commission, validate, and sustain new equipment assets, as well as perform overhauls on existing equipment. Skills: * Experience with hand tools, power tools, rigging equipment, and various man-lifts; experience with shop equipment (mills, lathes, band saws, presses, etc.) is advantageous. * Fabrication and assembly skills to repair/rebuild defective machinery using drawings, manuals, or sample parts. * Ability to identify and install bearings, seals, belts, chains, and other components of automated equipment. * Ability to read and update technical manuals and drawings. * Knowledge of shaft alignment techniques and mechanical drive systems, conveyors, and various pump types. * Machinery lubrication and light fabrication skills. * Experience with welding (Mig, Tig, and Stick). * Ability to learn and utilize software such as SAP, Microsoft Suite, and internet-based tools to manage work orders, track parts, research equipment, email, and troubleshoot. * Strong written and verbal communication skills and effective interpersonal skills with stakeholders at all levels. * Self-motivated work behavior requiring limited supervision. * Commitment to safety and plant operational standards. Experience: * Industrial maintenance experience with fillers, cappers, labelers, conveyors, case packers, palletizers, blow molders, or other automated packaging equipment is highly desirable but not required. * Hands-on work experience with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, rigging equipment, man-lifts, and machine shop equipment is preferred. * Experience or training in troubleshooting PLCs, HMIs, automation devices/sensors, robotics, communication networks, and AC/DC drives is highly desirable. Education: * Successful completion of a two-year college curriculum in technical areas OR vocational school certificates in mechanical/electrical technical fields. * Other vendor courses in machining, electricity, welding, or HVAC are highly desirable and may be considered as experience. People Skills: * Demonstrates safe work practices consistently. * Works well with others and shows initiative in addressing problems. * Demonstrates enthusiasm, pride, and ownership in their work. * Collaborates to develop and implement creative and effective solutions.
