Job Description Job Title: Inventory Specialist / Floor Sales Associate Job Description The Inventory Specialist / Floor Sales Associate plays a key role in maintaining accurate stock levels, organized merchandising, and efficient replenishment while delivering attentive customer service on the sales floor. This hybrid position combines hands-on inventory control, stockroom organization, and loss prevention with direct support for customers, including answering product questions and processing purchases. The role supports a specialized distributor of high-performance construction products, including roofing, waterproofing, and flooring solutions for commercial and industrial projects in South Florida. Responsibilities • Process incoming and outgoing shipments accurately, including verifying packing slips and documenting receipts in inventory management systems., • Conduct regular cycle counts and audits to identify and resolve stock discrepancies, ensuring accurate inventory records., • Log inventory data with a high level of accuracy and maintain up-to-date records in ERP or SAP systems and other inventory management tools., • Organize, label, and store products in the stockroom to ensure efficient product retrieval and minimize misplacement., • Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe stockroom environment that supports quick access to merchandise., • Ensure the sales floor is fully stocked, well-organized, and visually appealing according to company merchandising guidelines., • Replenish shelves and displays promptly to support product availability and drive sales., • Verify that all merchandise is properly signed and priced on the sales floor., • Assist customers on the sales floor by answering product questions and providing knowledgeable guidance on construction-related products such as roofing, waterproofing, and flooring solutions., • Support customers with the selection of products and process purchases efficiently at the point of sale., • Provide courteous, professional service to enhance the overall shopping experience., • Implement basic loss prevention and security measures, such as tagging merchandise and monitoring high-risk items., • Report inventory irregularities, damaged goods, or potential shrink issues to leadership as needed., • Collaborate with team members to meet inventory accuracy, merchandising, and customer service goals., • Proven experience with inventory control, including receiving, cycle counts, and reconciliation of stock discrepancies., • Hands-on experience processing packing slips and verifying incoming and outgoing shipments., • Proficiency with inventory management software, ERP systems, or SAP ERP for logging and tracking inventory data., • Ability to perform accurate data entry and maintain precise inventory records., • Strong attention to detail when auditing shipments and updating stock levels., • Ability to stand, walk, lift, and move 20–50 pounds of merchandise frequently throughout the workday., • Capability to maintain an organized stockroom and sales floor under time constraints., • Customer service skills, including the ability to answer product questions and assist customers in a retail or distribution environment., • Basic understanding of POS systems for processing customer purchases., • Experience working with ERP or SAP systems in an inventory, warehouse, or retail environment., • Inventory management within construction products, building materials, or related industries., • Familiarity with merchandising standards and visual presentation of products on a sales floor., • Ability to identify and implement basic loss prevention practices, such as tagging and securing merchandise., • Strong organizational and time-management skills to balance inventory tasks and customer-facing responsibilities. Work Environment This role is based in a retail and warehouse environment that supports commercial and industrial construction projects. The position follows a Monday–Friday schedule from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., with flexibility to work Saturdays as needed during peak periods. Work takes place both on the sales floor and in the stockroom, requiring frequent standing, walking, lifting, and moving of merchandise weighing 20–50 pounds. You will regularly use inventory management and ERP systems such as SAP, along with POS technology for customer transactions. The environment is fast-paced and hands-on, with a focus on safety, organization, and maintaining a clean, orderly workspace in both the sales area and back-of-house storage. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Miami, FL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $21.00/hr.
