Job Description Job Title: Packager Job Description This role works in a refrigerated production environment to accurately weigh, label, box, and palletize food products. You ensure each item meets precise weight and labeling standards, complete corresponding paperwork, and support multiple packaging lines throughout the shift while remaining on your feet in a cold environment. Pay $21 an Hour Responsibilities • Work in a cooler or freezer environment with temperatures typically between 40 and 50 degrees while performing packaging tasks throughout the shift., • Weigh product to precise measurements, ensuring each package meets required weight specifications., • Label products accurately and completely, following all established guidelines and standards., • Box finished product and palletize boxes in an organized and safe manner for storage or shipment., • Complete all required paperwork accurately, including weight records and production documentation., • Support daily operations in the packaging department, adapting to varying tasks and priorities., • Box off meat products as needed, ensuring correct quantities and proper packaging., • Monitor and work on the pail (16 oz) line, ensuring containers are filled, sealed, and labeled correctly., • Assist with the Multivac line, which seals meat with plastic wrapping, including feeding product, monitoring the process, and catching finished product., • Help with other small lines, such as placing lids on containers, catching product off the Multivac machinery, and checking product weights., • Perform regular weight checks to verify accuracy and maintain quality standards., • Use a pallet jack to move finished pallets and materials safely within the facility., • Maintain a clean and organized work area, following general labor and housekeeping expectations., • Follow all safety, food handling, and quality procedures while working in a cold environment., • Collaborate with team members and shift personnel to meet production goals and timelines. Essential Skills • At least 1 year of manufacturing experience in a role that required being on your feet for the entire shift., • Demonstrated ability to perform accurate weight checks and work with precise measurements., • Strong attention to detail to ensure correct weights, labels, and packaging., • Experience using a pallet jack to move materials and pallets safely., • Prior experience working in a food production or freezer environment., • Ability to perform general labor tasks in a fast-paced production setting., • Capability to stand, walk, and perform repetitive tasks for the duration of the shift., • Reliability and consistency in following procedures, paperwork, and quality standards. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Experience with packaging lines such as pail lines, Multivac equipment, or similar machinery., • Experience in picking, packing, or general warehouse operations., • Comfort working in cold environments and ability to dress appropriately for freezer conditions., • Willingness to rotate between different lines and tasks based on production needs., • Ability to work any of the available shifts as scheduled by the employer. Work Environment You work in a refrigerated and freezer production facility, spending the entirety of your shift in cold conditions, typically around 40 to 50 degrees or lower in the freezer. You may bundle up and wear warm layers as needed, and you receive regular breaks to warm up. The role requires being on your feet for the full shift while working on or around packaging lines, including pail lines and Multivac machinery that seals meat with plastic wrapping. You regularly use pallet jacks to move pallets and materials. Shifts are structured as 1st shift from 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., 2nd shift from 2:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., and 3rd shift from 10:30 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., with work performed in a production-floor setting that follows food safety and cleanliness standards. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Green Bay, WI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $21.00/hr.
