Job DescriptionJob Title: Maintenance Technician Job Description The Maintenance Technician (Reliability Technician) works in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment to safely perform preventive maintenance and repair of plant equipment. This role ensures equipment operates reliably, remains in good working condition, and complies with all relevant regulatory requirements. The technician supports a safe workplace by minimizing equipment downtime, improving reliability, and maintaining accurate, up-to-date compliance on all assigned systems. Responsibilities • Perform all types, levels, and frequencies of preventive maintenance on production equipment and selected support equipment independently., • Troubleshoot and repair equipment failures involving electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems to restore reliable operation., • Identify and use SAE and metric sockets, 1/4, 3/8, and 1/2 inch drives and ratchets, select correct sockets, determine thread sizes, and correctly tap or re-tap threaded holes with taps and dies., • Read, interpret, and follow basic electrical and mechanical prints, blueprints, diagrams, and drawings to perform maintenance and repairs., • Diagnose and repair basic mechanical issues, including chains, belts, pulleys, augers, load cells, pumps, and motors., • Troubleshoot and repair basic pneumatic systems, including air compressors, vacuum systems, air lines, and solenoids., • Repair instrumentation and basic electrical components such as extruder instrumentation, HMI/HDMI screens, fuses, plugs, and basic wiring., • Understand and work with basic electrical circuits such as resistance circuits, including measuring and checking heater band resistance, quartz heaters, and thermocouples to determine component condition., • Verify proper operation of sensors and simple switches by using a multimeter to confirm switching of voltage and signal integrity., • Assist with the installation of new equipment and operate equipment as needed to validate proper function., • Perform repairs and maintenance on facilities, buildings, and grounds, including basic electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and painting tasks., • Assist with the assembly or repair of mechanical parts, machines, and subassemblies using a variety of tools and equipment., • Safely and efficiently use power and hand tools such as impact guns, drill presses, band saws, and grinders for maintenance and fabrication tasks., • Fabricate parts when necessary to maintain, improve, or restore the function of equipment., • Perform welding using appropriate materials and techniques to join metals for maintenance and repair work., • Install, maintain, modify, and repair electrical systems throughout the facility., • Conduct general electrical systems maintenance and troubleshoot electrical issues using appropriate testing equipment., • Operate multiple types of lift trucks, including narrow aisle reach trucks, order pickers, and sit-down lifts, to support maintenance activities., • Practice safe work habits and follow all safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout, Arc Flash protocols, Confined Space procedures, and internal safety standards., • Demonstrate flexibility by switching tasks quickly to support equipment reliability and production flow as priorities change., • Perform other duties as assigned to support overall plant reliability, safety, and productivity.Essential Skills, • Demonstrated experience as a maintenance or reliability technician in an industrial or manufacturing environment., • Strong troubleshooting skills in electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems., • Ability to identify and correctly use SAE and metric sockets, 1/4, 3/8, and 1/2 inch drives and ratchets, and determine thread sizes., • Ability to tap or re-tap threaded holes using taps and dies., • Ability to read, interpret, and follow basic electrical and mechanical prints, blueprints, diagrams, and drawings., • Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing mechanical components such as chains, belts, pulleys, augers, load cells, pumps, and motors., • Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing pneumatic systems, including air compressors, vacuum systems, air lines, and solenoids., • Experience with instrumentation and basic electrical repairs, including extruder instrumentation, HMI/HDMI screens, fuses, plugs, and basic wiring., • Understanding of basic electrical circuits, including resistance circuits, and ability to measure and verify heater band resistance, quartz heaters, and thermocouples., • Ability to use a multimeter to test sensors and simple switches and verify proper switching of voltage., • Capability to independently perform preventive maintenance on a wide range of production and support equipment., • Ability to install, maintain, modify, and repair electrical systems and conduct general electrical maintenance using testing equipment., • Ability to safely operate multiple types of lift trucks, including narrow aisle reach trucks, order pickers, and sit-down lifts., • Consistent practice of safe work habits and adherence to safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout, Arc Flash, Confined Space, and internal safety standards., • Strong attention to detail with the ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment., • Self-motivated, able to work autonomously, prioritize tasks, and be self-directed., • Effective verbal and written communication skills to support decision-making and keep others informed.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Experience performing maintenance and repairs on facilities, buildings, and grounds, including basic electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and painting., • Experience assisting with assembly and repair of mechanical parts, machines, and subassemblies using various tools and equipment., • Ability to safely and efficiently use power and hand tools such as impact guns, drill presses, band saws, and grinders., • Experience fabricating parts to maintain or improve equipment function., • Welding experience, including selecting appropriate materials and techniques to join metals., • Experience working with extrusion equipment or similar plastic processing machinery is beneficial., • Comfort working in a structured safety program Work Environment This role is based in a clean, well-lit manufacturing facility that operates extrusion processes for plastic materials. The building can become warmer during the summer due to the nature of the extrusion operations, so comfort with working in elevated temperatures at times is important. The position supports 2nd shift (approximately 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.) and 3rd shift (approximately 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.), providing consistent, structured hours outside of standard daytime schedules. You regularly work with industrial equipment, including production machinery, electrical systems, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, and various power and hand tools such as impact guns, drill presses, band saws, and grinders. You also operate multiple types of lift trucks, such as narrow aisle reach trucks, order pickers, and sit-down lifts, in a plant environment that emphasizes safety procedures and organized work practices. Dress typically aligns with an industrial manufacturing setting, including appropriate workwear and personal protective equipment as required by safety policies. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Green Bay, WI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $28.00/hr.
