Candidates need to be able to MIG weld on Steel up to 1" thick or greater and at times some Stainless Steel. Each welder is expected to be able to take a print, layout the material and assemble/weld according to the specifications on the prints. Summary of Major Responsibilities/Duties: * At the beginning and end of shift, walk the yard and make a list of what is available for the shop to work on * Follow the list provided by the supervisor as to what needs to be worked on and in what order it needs to be done * Use sound judgement and forward thinking when the work schedule changes. * Prep all wagons for the blasters, staying ahead of them so work continues to flow steadily * Working directly with loading department when wagons and trailer need to go directly to them * Assemble paperwork packet for each wagon, pull prints and double check they are tracked properly * Pull shop wagons back to the appropriate bay * Assist in directing other bays where to bring their spools/parts * Perform conductivity tests/dust tests/solvent cleaning when applicable * Run the reclaim system 1-2 times a day depending on workflow * Inspects wagons/trailers to ensure safety and proper loading for painters. * Maintain organization of prints and paperwork in order and separated * Apprise supervisor when issues arise * Blow/shovel snow off wagons and trailers before bringing them into the building * Conducts work safely and follow all safety procedures. Job Description Title: Painter Department(s): Blast and Paint Reports to: Blast and Paint Foreman Location: Kaukauna, WI General Purpose of the Job: Applies paint and various other coatings as specified by customer to fabricated metal piping, tanks, and other structures. Summary of Major Responsibilities/Duties: * Painting of pipe spools, structural steel, positioners, and machined parts * Ability to use both a dry mil gage and a wet mil gage * Clean used equipment well in order to keep maintenance time down * Ensure you have the materials necessary in the mixing area before starting * Ability to mix, thin and apply Alkyds, Latex, Zinc Rich, Epoxies (to include Ultra High Solids) and Urethane coatings * Dispose of excess materials in their proper areas * Ability to use an airless and conventional sprayer * Ability to be trained on a forklift, tug, overhead crane, and tractor * Maintain good organization of the shop floor * Performing other job-related duties as assigned. * Conducts work safely and follows all safety procedures. Rejects work that is not safe and discusses the situation with supervisor. Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: * High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and/or one year experience and/or training. * Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. * Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percent, area, circumference, and volume.
