American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN SICU - Surgical Intensive Care for a travel nursing job in San Bernadino, California. Job Description & Requirements • Specialty: SICU - Surgical Intensive Care, • Discipline: RN, • Start Date: ASAP, • Duration: 13 weeks, • 36 hours per week, • Shift: 12 hours, days, • Work in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) of an acute care hospital, • 47-bed ICU with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:1 and 1:2, • Patient population includes post-cardiac procedures (TAVR, PCI), open heart surgery, stroke, neuro, sepsis, DKA, and other critical cases, • RNs are required to titrate both common titratable and set-rate drips, • Equipment used includes ventilators, Cpap, BiPap, Nitric oxide, GE bedside and central tele monitors, • RNs are responsible for reading and posting telemetry strips every 4 hours, • Cerner EMR system is used, • 12-hour day shifts with every other weekend required, • Float to telemetry units as needed, • On-call requirements are present, • Self-scheduling is allowed unless otherwise specified, • Hospital-provided navy blue scrubs are required, • Responsibilities include managing critically ill patients, titrating drips, and operating advanced ICU equipment, • ICU techs/CNAs present to support nursing staff, • 24/7 intensivist and respiratory therapist coverage in the unit, • Unit-specific orientation is provided after general hospital orientation with 1 shift in ICU and 1 in telemetry, • RNs must pass Relias Dysrhythmia and sterile technique testing if required for the region, • Candidates may not have been employed by CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facilities in the past year, • No holiday coverage required for this assignment\n \n Requirements\n, • Active CA RN license required at time of consideration; pending licenses not accepted, • Minimum 2 years of recent SICU or ICU experience, • Certifications required: BLS (AHA), ACLS, NIHSS, • Proven skills with vasoactive drips, lines, and ventilator management, • Ability to read and interpret telemetry strips, • Two professional references required: one from a supervisor within the last 12 months, and one from a peer or supervisor within the past 3 years\n Benefits\n, • High Pay and Bonuses, • Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options, • 401(k) Plan, • Weekly Payroll Deposit, • Free Online CEUs, • Generous Housing Allowance, • Travel and Licensure Reimbursements, • Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy With thousands of travel nursing and allied jobs nationwide, our attentive and approachable recruiters find positions that align perfectly with your career aspirations and personal requirements.
