Job Description Huntington University has an opening for an Assistant Professor of Occupational Therapy Assistant Program. Faculty members of the occupational therapy assistant program provide structured learning and laboratory experiences for students in compliance with ACOTE 2023 Standards. Faculty align teaching with university and department mission statements, strategic plan, curricular philosophy, design, and level of expertise. Faculty administer evaluation of students and support learning with application in areas of fieldwork. Faculty provide ongoing program evaluation and professional development for continued success of the academic program. QUALIFICATIONS • Must have a strong personal Christian commitment and faith in Jesus Christ and a desire to serve others., • Must be committed to the mission of Huntington University as a comprehensive Christian College dedicated to educating men and women to impact our world for Christ., • Demonstrated understanding of Christian higher education, preferred., • Positive people skills and a collaborator, • Excellent communication skills, • Commitment to continuous process improvement, • The individual must be an occupational therapist or occupational therapy assistant and hold a master’s or doctoral degree awarded by an institution that is accredited by a USDOE-recognized regional accrediting body., • Maintain current Occupational Therapy license in Indiana., • Commitment to an occupational therapy practice curriculum based on the mission of the University that exemplifies Christian ethics, compassion, and service., • Demonstrated successful teaching and curriculum development experience in undergraduate or graduate level institutions, with program development experience strongly preferred., • Evidence of clinical practice and research activities in professional health care organizations and ability to work successfully with a broad range of organizations., • Mental health experience desired., • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to work collaboratively with faculty, students, the University community, and clinical agencies., • Demonstrated professional writing skills.
