Job DescriptionJob Title: Quality Control InspectorJob Description The Quality Control Inspector ensures that manufactured products meet internal quality standards, industry requirements, and contract specifications. This role performs inspections and testing throughout the manufacturing cycle with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. The position is on 1st shift from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., with regular overtime up to 4:30 p.m. and frequent Saturday shifts of 6–8 hours. Responsibilities • Inspect and measure materials, components, and finished products throughout the manufacturing cycle to verify conformance to specifications and quality standards., • Accurately use standard measuring tools, including rulers, calipers, micrometers, tape measures, and force gauges to perform inspections., • Interpret blueprints, manufacturing drawings, data, and work specification sheets to determine product requirements, inspection procedures, testing methods, and appropriate measuring instruments., • Record inspection data, measurements, and quantities inspected on required inspection reports and traceability forms in a clear and accurate manner., • Collect, organize, and file inspection and test records in accordance with established record maintenance procedures to ensure proper documentation and traceability., • Notify supervisors and relevant production personnel of quality issues and assist in identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions., • Discuss inspection results with those responsible for the products and recommend necessary corrective actions to resolve nonconformances., • Complete all required record keeping, including time sheets and other documentation related to inspection activities., • Understand and correctly apply part numbers and revision levels to ensure the proper version of each product is inspected., • Inspect customer repair items as needed to verify that repairs meet specified quality standards., • Assist in training new inspectors by demonstrating proper inspection techniques, documentation practices, and use of measuring tools., • Perform other related duties as required or assigned to support production and quality objectives., • Consistently follow company rules, procedures, and quality policies while maintaining high accuracy and detail-oriented work standards.Essential Skills, • 1 to 2 years of quality inspection experience in a manufacturing environment., • Ability to understand and work with basic written instructions and documents., • Ability to read and interpret manufacturing drawings, blueprints, and work specification sheets., • Proficiency in basic computations, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in all units of measure using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals., • Capability to accurately use standard measuring tools such as rulers, calipers, micrometers, tape measures, and force gauges., • Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain high accuracy standards in all inspection activities., • Experience in quality control or manufacturing environments, including familiarity with inspection processes., • Ability to communicate inspection findings to supervisors and production personnel in a clear and constructive manner.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Experience with upholstery, apparel manufacturing, industrial sewing, or working around sewing machines in a production environment., • Familiarity with quality inspection of sewn products or textile-based components., • Comfort working with technical data and quality documentation., • Ability to work overtime up to 4:30 p.m. on weekdays and frequent Saturday shifts of 6–8 hours as needed., • ITAR-related eligibility to work on regulated products and programs, as required by contract specifications.Why Work Here? Work Environment This role is based on a manufacturing shop floor that is heated and air conditioned, providing a comfortable and controlled environment. The facility focuses on the design and manufacture of advanced personnel parachute systems and oxygen systems for specialized missions, creating a unique and technically engaging setting. The noise level is usually moderate due to sewing machines and general production traffic. The position requires frequent walking and time spent at or around sewing machines, as well as occasional lifting and pulling of moderate to heavy items. The standard schedule is 1st shift from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., with regular overtime to 4:30 p.m. and frequent Saturday work. Employees are expected to wear appropriate attire suitable for a manufacturing environment and to follow all safety and shop floor procedures. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of SANTA ANA, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.45 - $20.64/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
