This role involves moving, handling, and storing various materials and products within our warehouse or manufacturing environment. The Material Handler is essential to ensuring that materials are delivered to the correct locations in a timely and efficient manner. Responsibilities: • Receive and unload materials from incoming shipments, inspect for damage, and verify quantities against packing slips., • Store materials in designated areas with proper organization and labeling., • Operate and maintain automated bagging equipment, including troubleshooting and periodic inspections., • Address issues with clogged conveying lines or product buildup in bins., • Transport materials using forklifts, pallet jacks, or other material handling equipment., • Maintain accurate inventory records, perform regular counts, and report discrepancies., • Pick and load orders according to specifications, ensuring accuracy and timeliness., • Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment., • Conduct daily inspections and maintenance of forklifts., • Follow all safety procedures and guidelines, reporting unsafe conditions, and ensuring compliance with company policies., • Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring safe and efficient storage of materials., • Complete necessary documentation for material movements, inventory adjustments, and order fulfillment., • Accurate data entry of all inventory management into the company’s ERP system., • High school diploma or equivalent., • Previous experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment preferred., • Basic math and computer skills., • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals., • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills., • Ability to work collaboratively with team members and other departments., • Good verbal and written communication skills., • Ability to identify issues and implement effective solutions., • Punctuality and a strong work ethic are essential., • Valid forklift certification or willingness to obtain certification upon request., • Must pass drug screening as required., • Work in a manufacturing plant environment with exposure to chemicals, fumes, and loud noises., • Willingness to work on-call, PTO coverage, and overtime as needed., • Lift and carry heavy objects up to 50 pounds or more., • Climb stairs, ladders (up to 140’), and platforms; work in confined spaces and awkward positions., • Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity., • Stand for long periods, sometimes in hot or uncomfortable conditions., • Perform repetitive tasks and continuous movement throughout the shift., • Be in good physical health with no conditions preventing safe job performance., • Adequate vision and hearing to detect equipment malfunctions and read gauges., • Company ownership through Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP), • 401(K), • Discretionary bonus and yearly salary increase, • Holiday, Vacation and Sick pay, • Medical, Dental Vision Insurance, • Education and Employee Assistance Programs, • Life insurance, • Short- and long-term disability This advertisement does not constitute an employment agreement between Jones-Hamilton Co. and the employee and is subject to change by Jones-Hamilton Co. as the needs of the organization and/or the requirements of the function change.
