Perez Morris is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Medical Malpractice Attorney to join our Toledo office. The ideal candidate will have first-chair trial experience, a deep understanding of medical-legal issues, and a proven track record of handling high-stakes cases from inception through verdict. Key Responsibilities: • Minimum four years of experience handling medical malpractice defense litigation., • Experienced trial lawyer with regular appearances in court conferences, arbitrations, mediations, and depositions., • Skilled in all aspects of litigation strategy from drafting pleadings, responding to written discovery motions and discovery demands, preparing motions, to negotiating settlements and preparing witnesses for trial., • Trusted advisor to insurers and corporate clients, serving as primary contact for claims professionals, providing case assessments, litigation plans, and status reports., • Must be able to work independently on an assigned caseload., • Exceptional attention to detail, strong writing and legal research skills, and a strong work ethic., • Entrepreneurial growth mindset for client development and practice management., • Values collaboration and diverse perspectives and can work with a team to creatively solve problems. Qualifications • J.D. from an accredited law school., • Active license in good standing with the [State] Bar., • Minimum four years of litigation experience., • First-chair trial experience preferred., • Demonstrated ability to handle high-pressure cases and manage complex litigation matters., • Strong organizational and time-management skills., • Commitment to client service and ethical legal practice., • Exceptional attention to detail, strong writing and legal research skills, and a strong work ethic., • Entrepreneurial growth mindset for client development and practice management., • Values collaboration and diverse perspectives and can work with a team to creatively solve problems., • Willingness to be a productive member of a team.
