This is more than managing numbers—it's about maximizing ministry impact through wise stewardship, sound financial planning, and transparent accountability. You will partner with pastoral leadership to ensure our church's financial health supports vibrant, sustainable ministry for generations to come. What You'll Lead Treasury & Cash Management Oversee daily cash flow and ensure optimal liquidity for ministry operations Manage the flow of cash across all church accounts and ministries Develop cash management policies and maintain appropriate reserves Establish strategic banking relationships Investment & Asset Oversight Manage outsourced accounting services and payroll provider Oversee riak management policies, including insurance providers Provide strategic oversight of church financial investments and endowment funds Work with investment advisors to optimize portfolio performance Monitor investment returns and ensure alignment with church values Manage restricted funds, memorial gifts, and designated accounts Loan & Credit Facilities Coordinate the approval process for all loans and lines of credit Research and evaluate financing options for capital projects Negotiate terms with lending institutions Ensure compliance with loan covenants and manage debt service Financial Analysis & Strategic Planning Analyze comprehensive financial information to assess current and future financial statuses Prepare detailed financial forecasts and scenario planning models Conduct variance analysis and identify trends, opportunities, and risks Provide data-driven insights to support strategic ministry decisions Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure financial health Budget Development & Management Review costs across all departments for optimal budget planning Lead annual budget development process with ministry leaders Analyze spending patterns and identify cost-saving opportunities Monitor budget performance and provide regular variance reports Ensure budget alignment with church strategic priorities Financial Reporting & Systems Evaluate reporting systems and recommend improvements for accuracy and efficiency Oversee preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements Ensure compliance with GAAP and denominational standards Implement and maintain robust financial management software Present financial results to leadership and congregation Collections & Revenue Management Evaluate collection procedures and implement best practices Oversee contribution processing and ensure accurate gift recording Manage accounts receivable and optimize electronic giving platforms Monitor revenue streams and identify growth opportunities Ensure proper tax documentation for all contributions Compliance & Risk Management Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations Maintain tax-exempt status and coordinate annual external audit Implement internal controls to prevent fraud Coordinate insurance coverage and conduct risk assessments Who We're Looking For You're the right fit if you: Essential Qualifications: ✝️ Mature Faith: Active Christian with strong biblical stewardship values and alignment with our church doctrine Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business (CPA or MBA strongly preferred) Experience: 7-10+ years progressive financial management experience with 3-5 years in senior leadership Budget Expertise: Proven track record managing multi-million dollar budgets Strategic Skills: Demonstrated excellence in financial analysis, forecasting, and strategic planning Treasury Knowledge: Experience with cash management, investments, and debt financing ⛪ Ministry Context: Background in nonprofit or church finance strongly preferred Technical Proficiency: Expert in GAAP, financial software, advanced Excel, and church management systems You'll Excel if
