Job Description Job Description The Handyman & Maintenance Technician is responsible for the upkeep and repair of marina facilities, grounds, and equipment. This role performs a wide range of general maintenance tasks, including minor plumbing, electrical, air conditioning, and general building repairs. In addition, the technician supports daily operations by ensuring all areas remain clean, safe, and in excellent working condition. This role requires versatility, attention to detail, a strong commitment to safety, and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with the team. Key Job Responsibilities • Perform general handyman duties as needed., • Assist with minor plumbing repairs., • Conduct minor electrical repairs, including replacing switches and light., • Repair indoor and outdoor structures, including patching and painting drywall., • Conduct minor air conditioning repairs., • Assist in setting up and breaking down company hosted events., • Conduct minor repairs on company machinery and equipment., • Perform minor road repairs., • Maintain a positive and professional demeanor when interacting with customers., • Perform daily trash collection as directed., • Support upkeep of outdoor areas by mowing grass, trimming shrubs, and performing general landscaping., • Perform general landscaping including mowing grass and trimming shrubs., • Inspect facilities and equipment and communicate needs for repairs or safety concerns to department management., • Assist with building cleaning needs in coordination with contracted cleaning service., • Safely operate company vehicles, forklifts, and other equipment as needed. Required Competencies • Attention to Detail, • Communication, • Cooperation, • High School Diploma or equivalent, • Requires climbing, bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, and twisting, • Requires the ability to use speech, vision and hearing, • Requires the use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations, • Requires the ability to lift, carry, push or pull up to 50 pounds, • Exposure to changes in temperature and humidity, • Work performed indoors and out in a marine environment. (This includes adverse weather conditions.), • Physical hazards include marine cargo handling equipment and vehicles, rail traffic, electrical panels, working in confined spaces, and exposure to variable levels of air particulates; i.e. soda ash, potash, and grain dust.
