For many people, gaining access to dental care isn’t simply a matter of finding the nearest dentist. Some may face language and cultural issues that keep them from connecting with dental providers. Others may lack insurance coverage, transportation or childcare that would make it easier for them to visit the dentist. JWCH works to assist patients with navigating barriers and helping them achieve better oral health and improved overall health outcomes. Position Purpose: This position is responsible for assisting dentists in the direct provision of primary dental care services to patients at the clinic. The Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) is also responsible for the sterilization, preparation, and inventory control of dental instruments and supplies, as well as ensuring proper infection control in all patient care areas. RDAs are vital members of the JWCH Dental Department and must contribute to fostering a team atmosphere, whether at their assigned clinic or when filling in at other sites. RDAs are expected to use AIDET as an internal and external customer service tool with both patients and JWCH staff. SUMMARY OF POSITION The Paraprofessional Counselor is part of a multi-disciplinary team of staff who provide support, supervision and residential services to adults ages 18-59 who are diagnosed with chronic and persistent mental health disorders. The Paraprofessional Counselor’s responsibilities include monitoring and reporting clients’ behaviors and activities, monitoring and reporting any facility issues or security concerns, and providing support and supervision to ensure clients are engaging in treatment, complying with House Rules, and making progress toward their discharge goals to lower levels of care. As an exempt manager in the event of a serious staff shortage or a crisis situation, may be required to cover a shift(s) as determined by the DRS., • Monitor staff for appropriate time card punches, punch edit’s must include notes/justification and never to off-set late/early arrivals or adjust for overtime, reviews and signs final time sheets for staff he/she supervises (or as needed/approved)., • Assign and monitor staff responsibilities for the shift, including but not limited to: medication distribution, supervision of youth and activities, cleanliness of facility, facilitation of morning and night meetings, transportation of youth to appointments, facilitation of group activities., • Conduct daily shift transition meetings and scheduled staff meetings., • Identify training needs for monthly staff trainings. Work with the SVP, Southern California in curriculum building and provision of trainings for Resident Advisor Staff and Security Officer Staff., • Provide recommendations and assist in the hiring procedures for open positions on the shift., • Monitor census to ensure compliance with CHC open intake, restriction, discharge and re-entry policies and procedures. Ensure ongoing monitoring and carrying out of strategic plan goals for Safe Haven., • Provide crisis intervention to residents, as appropriate., • Assist youth in the follow through of assignments and tasks delineated on individual case plan. Maintain awareness of case management process and issues for individual youth., • Attend all weekly team CPR / case review meetings as appropriate by shift., • Responsible for taking the lead on residential follow-ups including identifying pending restrictions and coordinating decisions with the SVP, Southern California. Assist with youth intakes, restrictions, discharges and ensure the proper following of procedures., • Provide appeal process for restricted youth (as appropriate to shift)., • Authorize emergency shelter for youth, in conjunction with the SVP, Southern California and Outreach Manager as appropriate., • When scheduled he/she provides coverage as the “Administrator-On-Call” for residential services., • Responsible to monitor the use of petty cash which includes submission of all receipts per transition to the Custodian(s) and ensures that transactions of bus tokens/ tap cards for residents are accurate and can be accounted/reconciled by the Accounting department. EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services or related field experience required. EXPERIENCE: Experience with at-risk youth, preferably runaway and homeless youth. Must have 1-3 years management/supervisory experience working within a residential setting, case management experience preferred. SKILLS: Knowledge of adolescent development, crisis intervention, Part-R, CPR and First Aid. Must have good organizational skills and the ability to communicate with members, clients, vendors and the public. Ability to exercise appropriate authority when needed and good judgment in crisis situations, good written and verbal communication skills. TRANSPORTATION: Must have a valid CA driver license, have reliable transportation and a good driving record. Requires approval as a CHC authorized driver and transport clients/staff if needed using agency transportation. WORKING CONDITIONS: General business/office environment. We’re looking for a People Operations Manager to build, lead, and execute People Ops practices in our Los Angeles office. This is a critical hands-on role that will be responsible for scaling our people infrastructure while acting as the go-to partner for local leaders and employees. You’ll manage one People Operations Generalist (focused on payroll, benefits, and compliance), and directly support generalist work onsite while we scale the team. This role will also lead the charge in designing and operationalizing scalable HR processes, policies, and tools for our growing LA presence. Responsibilities: • People Ops Site Lead – LA, • Serve as the primary People Operations contact for the LA office—partnering closely with team leads, managers, and employees across technical and non-technical functions., • Provide hands-on support for HR-related issues in LA including onboarding, offboarding, employee requests, policy questions, and workplace logistics., • Collaborate with IT, Security, and Facilities to ensure a smooth employee experience onsite., • Team Management, • Directly manage one People Operations Generalist focused on payroll administration, benefits, and compliance., • Support prioritization, execution, and professional development., • Serve as player-coach: jumping into execution as needed and guiding long-term capability-building., • Policy, Process, and Systems Design, • Build and document scalable, compliant policies and processes for core People Ops functions (e.g., leave of absence, terminations, onboarding, accommodations, etc.)., • Partner with broader People Ops leadership to align LA office operations with company-wide practices., • Drive operational rigor and improve system workflows (HRIS, ticketing, documentation). Minimum Requirements:, • 5+ years of HR/People Operations experience, including at least 1–2 years of people management., • Experience owning and improving People Ops policies and workflows (especially in CA)., • Knowledge of CA-specific labor laws and compliance requirements., • Hands-on operational experience with payroll, onboarding, benefits, and employee relations., • Comfort operating as both a strategic partner and a tactical executor., • Ability to build trust quickly, especially in a cross-functional, high-performance culture.
