Job Description Job Title: Machine Operator Helper Pay: $24/hr to $28/hr Must be OK with drug test and bg check Job Description As a Machine Operator Helper, you will play a crucial role in the operation and maintenance of advanced machinery. You will work with a variety of machines, including press brakes, saws, drills, turret punches, lasers, and shears, following standard operating procedures. Your expertise will ensure that machines are set up, programmed, and calibrated accurately for production runs, and you will troubleshoot and resolve complex issues as they arise. Responsibilities • Operate various machines at an advanced level according to standard operating procedures., • Set up, program, and calibrate machines for production runs, ensuring all configurations meet product specifications., • Troubleshoot and resolve complex machine issues, including mechanical, electrical, and software-related problems., • Monitor the performance of machines and identify opportunities for process improvements, cost reductions, and efficiency gains., • Perform final quality checks on parts and assemblies, ensuring they meet all standards and customer specifications., • Train and mentor less experienced machine operators on advanced machine operation and troubleshooting techniques., • Conduct routine maintenance and inspections on machines, ensuring all equipment is in good working condition., • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to improve product designs, production workflows, and equipment performance., • Maintain accurate records of production activities, machine performance, and any corrective actions taken., • Follow and enforce strict adherence to safety protocols, ensuring a safe working environment., • 5+ years of experience in machine operations, preferably in press breaks, turrets, lasers, and shears., • Expertise in machine programming, troubleshooting, and maintenance., • Strong knowledge of machining techniques, including precision manufacturing and CNC operations., • Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD/CAM files., • Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills., • Strong leadership abilities, with experience training and mentoring junior staff., • High school diploma or equivalent; advanced technical certification or associate degree in machine operation, engineering, or related field preferred., • Experience working with sheet metal that is cut, pressed, and punched to a strict tolerance. Work Environment The work environment is a modern, state-of-the-art facility with industry 4.0 technology. The role requires a temporary shift with hours from 4:30 pm to 2 am, Monday to Thursday, with a 15% shift differential. Once new machines are installed by the end of September, shifts will transition to a first shift, Monday to Thursday from 6 am to 4:30 pm, or a weekend shift from Friday to Sunday, 5 am to 5:30 pm, with a 10% shift differential for the weekend shift. The role requires physical activity, including lifting up to 35 pounds, standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, and climbing ladders. Personal Protection Equipment will be required, and good manual dexterity and multi-limb coordination are essential. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of NA, Arizona. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $23.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
