Job Description Position Summary The Alarm Technician is responsible for the installation, service, troubleshooting, and maintenance of intrusion alarm systems, video surveillance, access control, and life safety systems. This role is ideal for a hands-on technician who enjoys working with modern security technology, problem-solving in the field, and delivering excellent customer experiences. Key Responsibilities Installation & Service • Install, program, and commission:, • Burglar alarm systems, • Security cameras (IP & analog), • Access control systems, • Fire and life safety systems (where licensed), • Run, terminate, label, and test low-voltage wiring (CAT5/6, coax, alarm wire), • Mount and configure sensors, panels, keypads, cameras, readers, and network devices, • Diagnose and repair system issues (wiring faults, signal loss, device failures), • Conduct preventive maintenance and system inspections, • Respond to service calls efficiently and professionally, • Educate customers on system operation and mobile app usage, • Provide clear explanations of system features and best practices, • Complete job documentation, service tickets, and testing reports, • Ensure installations comply with local codes, manufacturer specifications, and UL requirements, • Strong understanding of:, • Intrusion alarm panels and sensors, • Low-voltage wiring practices, • Basic networking (IP addressing, PoE, routers/switches), • Ability to read wiring diagrams, floor plans, and system layouts, • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record, • Ability to pass background check and drug screening, • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, • Experience with any of the following systems:, • Honeywell / Resideo, • DSC, • Alarm.com, • IP camera systems (Axis, Hikvision, Uniview, etc.), • Access control platforms, • Residential and/or commercial security experience, • NICET Level I or II (Fire Alarm – preferred for fire-related work), • Alarm Technician License (state-specific, where required), • Low Voltage License (state/local requirement), • Manufacturer certifications (Honeywell, Alarm.com, etc.), • OSHA 30, • Ability to climb ladders and work at heights, • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, • Comfortable working in attics, crawl spaces, and outdoor environments, • Competitive pay based on experience, • Steady, year-round work, • Company vehicle (for qualified technicians), • Tools, uniforms, and ongoing training, • Opportunities for advancement and certification growth, • Supportive team environment that respects technicians’ skillsCompany DescriptionLinked Alarm is a fast-growing, technology-driven security and life-safety company providing customized alarm, surveillance, and monitoring solutions for residential and commercial clients.
