End Date: January 10, 2026 Duration: Approximately 6 weeks Shift: Varies (8 AM – 4 PM, 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM, 9 AM – 5 PM, 9:30 AM – 5:30 PM) Hours per Day: 8 Hours per Week: 40 The Clinical Nurse is a Registered Professional Nurse who provides safe, competent, quality care based on nursing theory and research to a designated group of patients and their significant others in an ambulatory care setting. This role emphasizes Relationship Centered Care and the nursing process through evidence-based practice and approved organizational nursing standards. Patient Care • Deliver patient care by applying the nursing process, research, and evidence-based practice., • Assess and evaluate patient care needs, applying critical thinking in care management., • Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to develop, implement, and evaluate care plans., • Prioritize patient care activities including teaching, rounding, coaching, and after-hospital planning., • Educate patients and caregivers regarding care plans, transitions, health promotion, and disease prevention., • Communicate effectively and professionally with patients, families, and healthcare team members., • Role model Mount Sinai Relationship Centered Care through various patient-centered actions such as Admission Welcome, Bedside Shift Report, Purposeful Hourly Rounding, and Discharge Wrap-Up., • Consider patient values, preferences, cultural diversity, and expressed needs in care., • Establish and maintain therapeutic relationships with patients and families., • Utilize evidence-based practices to improve understanding of patient perceptions of care., • Address patient and family concerns through service recovery and escalate when necessary., • Practice safe and efficient patient-centered care, identifying and escalating barriers., • Demonstrate clinical skills essential to quality and safety., • Participate in quality improvement projects, evidence-based practice activities, and nursing research., • Implement principles of high reliability to avoid high-risk behaviors and maintain a safe environment., • Perform charge nurse duties as assigned., • Coordinate with management to ensure proper use of supplies and resources., • Document accurately and thoroughly in compliance with legal and regulatory requirements., • Support colleagues, patients, families, and healthcare team members in the environment of care., • Advance clinical competence and nursing practice., • Project a professional image with caring, respect, and empathy., • Incorporate ethical principles into decision-making., • Encourage lifelong learning, scholarship, and innovation., • Participate in shared decision-making through councils, committees, and unit initiatives., • Licensure: NYS RN/LPN License – Required, • Experience: Minimum 2 years RN/LPN experience, with at least 2 years ambulatory care experience, • Travel Experience: 1 year travel experience required for travel positions (not required for Per Diem), • Charting System: EPIC experience highly preferred, • Schedule: 3x12 (as per skills section), • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred, • Associate Degree in Nursing accepted with relevant experience and/or active matriculation in a BSN program HonorVet Technologies: Pioneering Purpose, Empowering Heroes Founded in 2015, HonorVet Technologies stands as a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB), proudly certified by NaVOBA and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.
