Overview: The Driver Supervisor is responsible for overseeing a specific group of drivers and monitoring performance and dispatch. CHASI provides outreach, education, prevention, and direct support services for populations most affected by health disparities – the poor and working poor, low-income people with chronic illnesses, persons with criminal justice involvement, substance users, domestic violence survivors, people of color, persons living with HIV/AIDS, and the LGBTQ+ community. POSITION SUMMARY: Community Health Action of Staten Island, in partnership with Sun River Health, has developed a collaborative program to enhance care engagement, improve HIV health outcomes, and promote the well-being of people living with HIV/AIDS (PLWH/A) in Queens and Staten Island. Job Description Summary Streetwork Project is an innovative outreach-counseling program for homeless youth in Harlem, which utilizes a harm reduction approach providing comprehensive services to adolescents and young adults impacted by homelessness and involved in street activities (gangs, violence, drug use/sale and survival sex). The Youth Services Navigator will promote access to harm reduction supplies and services at Streetwork’s Drop-In Center, with a focus on LGBTQ youth and youth of color at risk of SUDs Youth Services Navigators (YSN) will facilitate and conduct one-on-one harm reduction goal setting intervention for drug using clients. Youth Services Navigators will provide overdose prevention and response trainings for drug users. SUMMARY Is responsible for assisting the Director in directing, coordinating, developing and supervising all program components within a service to ensure the most effective and productive utilization of these areas for children served. This includes the direct supervision of all direct care and clinical staff, compliance with all applicable regulations, department development and expanding and attending to all children needs. Has the authority to exercise independent judgment within the framework of established policies and procedures that influence operations. Serves as liaison with all other programs of the Agency and with other agencies and the community particularly with regard to activities/service. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The duties and responsibilities of the Assistant Director, Program Services will include, but are not limited to the following: • Recruits, interviews, hires, orients, trains, appraises, supervises, disciplines and when necessary, terminates subordinate staff., • Assists with overseeing and directs daily operation of total program including education, clinical, medical, clerical and maintenance., • Prepares various agency required program reports., • Assists with monitoring program budget., • Recommends classroom placements and curriculum design., • Serves as liaison between parents and school districts., • Suggests, develops, coordinates and implements program goals., • Assist with development, implementation and updating program policies and procedures., • Handles communication with community organizations and school districts as directed., • Facilitates transition of children to next appropriate education placement., • Assists with formulating and recommending long range plans for services and programs to be offered and implements as authorized., • Prepares departmental projections and other relevant statistics as recommended. Assists with student placement decisions in other facilities., • Ensures that staff receive all required in-service training. Develops and implements in-service training related to children’s needs., • Takes appropriate measures including periodic area assessments and observations of practices, materials, equipment and environment and provides staff and children with safety training in order to ensure that employees and children are provided with safest and healthiest workplace possible., • Assists with public relations and community education for program., • Completes special projects as requested., • Help plans for department development and expansion., • Assist with developing and implementation Quality Assurance plan for department., • Serves as a standing member of Agency-wide committees., • Keeps abreast of changes in field., • Performs other related duties as requested. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE • Master’s Degree in Special Education, • At least five years of experience as a Special Education Teacher and four years of experience as a School Administrator., • New York State Permanent Certification as a Special Education Teacher, • New York State Permanent Certification as a School Administrator and Supervisor, • Valid New York State Driver’s License and maintain it in good standing COMPENSATION: $85,000 - $95,000 Annually + Industry-Leading Benefits & a GENEROUS Sign on Bonus! Job Description BronxWorks helps individuals and families improve their economic and social well-being. From toddlers to seniors, we feed, shelter, teach, and support our neighbors to build a stronger community. Across our 60+ locations, we provide programs in a variety of service areas, including workforce development, children, youth, families, seniors and homeless prevention. This initiative connects families to food resources such as SNAP, WIC, and emergency food programs. The program promotes food security by helping individuals overcome eligibility and access challenges. Essential Duties and Responsibilities • Be able to travel between multiple Food Pantry sites to assist with distribution., • Provide general outreach and promotion for program (outdoor and indoor), • Provide office support including clerical, filing, faxing, scanning, typing, photocopying and sorting mail, • Answer telephones and offer other office support, when necessary, • Report to, and meet with, supervisor on a weekly basis or as determined, • Perform additional duties as assigned Program Specific Responsibilities • Support strategies for community outreach and recruitment, • Become knowledgeable of every component and service offered by the CMCC Food Pantry, • Provide assistance with all Food Pantry activities, such as lifting boxes, sorting food, assisting with inventory management, and crowd control, • Complete data entry for all Food Pantry sites., • Complete and maintain inventory records while ensuring First In, First Out (FIFO) procedures were followed, • Greet clients and schedule appointments for them to receive services, • Respond to and follow up on inquiries regarding upcoming pantry services., • Create and distribute informational materials and flyers in targeted (and other) communities in the Bronx to promote services, events, and other special functions, • Refer clients to an appropriate program for enrollment services, • Perform data entry work, • Perform additional duties as assigned by manager.
