As a PeopleReady associate you'll benefit from: • Connections and experience with some of the top companies in your area, • Great benefit package options, • Get matched to jobs quickly, • Competitive pay and steady schedule The pay rate for this job is $20 - $20 / hour* What you'll be doing as a Product Development Assistant / Food Technologist: • Create, review and update ingredient, nutrition labeling, allergen statement, cooking instructions and regulatory information in compliance with CFR, USDA, FDA and other related laws and regulations, • Create product specifications and SOPs for internal use, • Prepare any R&D related documentations requested by domestic and internal customers and answer any questions that customers may have regarding this matter, • Conduct scientific researches on applies laws and regulations based on the discretion of R&D manager, • Keep self updated on applied laws and regulations, • Perform other duties as assigned, • Responsible for preparation of minor ingredients for all products, • Monitor and spot check if Production follows R&D process standards on the production floor, • Assist QA in writing up product specifications and standard operating procedures, • Assist with testing data analysis and bill of materials (BOM) calculation, • Help with sensory evaluation of new products and competitors' products, • Coordinate with other departments, i.e., Production, QA, Maintenance for plant trials, • Maintain a clean and organized R&D test kitchen and other workstations, • Order the kitchen supplies as needed, • Assist with troubleshooting any product technical support for production in a timely manner to control production downtime, • Ensure that formulation, data and reports are strictly controlled, and kept securely and confidentially Shift timings - All Available Job requirements: • Bachelor's degree in food science, food engineering, chemistry or a related field, • Minimum 2 years of experience of label and regulatory affairs in the food industry, • Previous experience of Asian frozen products preferred, • Knowledge of ingredients functionality, product evaluation, health and nutrition, foodmanufacturing processes, microbiology, quality assurance principles, and market research principles, • Must be familiar with CFR 9 and 21, USDA, FDA and other related laws and regulations, • Knowledge of organic certifiers, Kosher, gluten free, etc. is a plus, • Experience with Genesis preferred., • Ability to work flexible schedules depending on the operational needs, • Must be a team player with excellent interpersonal, organization and time management skills, • Excellent verbal and written communications skills along with computer skills (MS Word and Excel), • Must be able to motivate, coach, train, reward, and recognize employees., • Bilingual in Chinese is preferred, • Physical requirement including frequent lifting up to 25 lbs., occasional lifting up to 50 lbs., and infrequent lifting up to 100 lbs; For instances when employee is required to lift, • more than 50 lbs and 100 lbs they must work in teams of two or use the proper equipment and tools for the job/task at hand, • Ability to walk and stand for at least 2 hours or more at one time; exposure to loud noise, dust, chemicals, etc, • Chinese (Mandarin) required Complete our application to join the PeopleReady team today.
