The selected candidate will be an employee of Public Health Solutions, a nonprofit organization which is the fiscal and administrative manager of the grant but will be supervised by the NYC Health Department. This is a grant-funded position ending in January 2027 The Division of Disease Control performs identification, surveillance, treatment, control, and prevention of 90+ infectious diseases. It is one of the largest Divisions within the Health Department with seven bureaus including the Bureau of Communicable Diseases. The Bureau of Communicable Diseases is responsible for the surveillance, prevention, and control of over 70 infectious diseases, including foodborne, waterborne, respiratory, zoonotic and vector-borne diseases. Within the Bureau of Communicable Diseases, the Community Outreach and Health Education Unit is a collaborative and cross-cutting team that is in development. The team works across diseases on planning outreach and engagement with communities impacted by infectious diseases and on developing health education materials for preventing and controlling infectious diseases. Job Description The NYC Health Department has an opening for an outreach coordinator and health educator. This position will help develop and foster relationships with members of the agricultural and animal health community in NYC and develop health education materials for various public and provider audiences. They will report to the Community Outreach and Health Education Unit lead. Duties • Coordinating health education initiatives related to avian influenza and respiratory diseases, in collaboration with the Respiratory Pathogens Unit, as well as assisting with initiatives on other diseases and conditions managed by the Bureau of Communicable Diseases (BCD) including foodborne, waterborne, zoonotic and vector-borne diseases., • Arrange and conduct in-person visits to poultry markets in NYC to develop and foster relationships in order to facilitate communication with owners and staff., • Establish and foster relationships with backyard flock groups in collaboration with partners at the NYS Department of Agriculture and NYC Parks Community Garden program,, • Explore ways to engage and share information with the public and people at high risk of exposure to infected birds or animals, and people at greater risk of severe disease., • Create materials for the provider community as needed to support rapid identification and appropriate testing of patients at risk of avian influenza testing,, • Working with disease subject matter experts to develop and implement theory- and evidence-based health education materials or initiatives with a focus on populations most at-risk for zoonotic and vectorborne diseases. Materials and initiatives may include instructional activities and other strategies to change individual health behavior, as well as contributing to bureau and agency driven organizational efforts, policy directives, mass media, and community-level programs., • Collaborating with subject matter experts in BCD to maintain disease specific webpages, fact sheets, and existing health education materials for both a public and provider audience., • Developing social media proposals that promote health using innovative, targeted, and timely posts. Evaluating metrics to inform future social media posts., • Understanding and addressing cultural differences, health inequities, and disabilities when creating content and materials. Position Summary The Technician and Program Assistant (TPA) is a cross-functional role that supports daily studio operations, educational programming, and community engagement at Greenwich House Pottery. The TPA is responsible for maintaining a safe, clean, and well-equipped studio environment, assisting students and faculty, supporting administrative processes, and promoting a welcoming atmosphere for all studio users. TPAs are cross-trained to handle both technician - and administrative tasks and are assigned shifts accordingly. Staff in the West Village location work dedicated shifts (either as technician or liaison), while Chelsea staff perform an integrated set of duties each shift. Key Responsibilities Studio Operations & Technical Support • Maintain cleanliness and safety of studio classrooms and shared spaces, • Prepare and replenish clay, glazes, slips, and kiln materials, • Load, unload, and monitor kilns; document firings and report malfunctions, • Receive deliveries and restock studio materials and tools, • Perform or assist with basic equipment maintenance and minor repairs, • Support studio and classroom setup and breakdown, • Assist Operations Manager and/or Studio and Program Coordinator with specialized repairs and facility maintenance Administrative & Program Support • Welcome and assist students, faculty, and visitors at the front desk, • Answer phone and email inquiries and provide general program information, • Process registrations, payments, and tool sales via POS systems (Shopify and Stripe), • Maintain accurate signage, rosters, and studio announcements, • Support weekly faculty communications and student outreach as directed, • Assist with opening/closing duties and track attendance or supply needs Community Engagement & Learning Environment • Serve as a helpful, knowledgeable point of contact for faculty and students, • Support a respectful, inclusive, and creative learning environment, • Offer studio tours and orient new students as needed, • Assist in-studio events and exhibitions, including artwork pick-up and gallery-related logistics, • Capture photos and short videos of daily studio activity for use in organic social media content, in collaboration with the Studio and Program Coordinator, • Other duties as assigned Qualifications • Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA), Bachelor of Arts (BA), or equivalent knowledge; Master of Fine Arts (MFA) a plus, • Minimum two years of experience in a ceramics studio, arts organization, or educational setting, • A self-starter who works well without close supervision and can establish priorities when presented with multiple tasks., • Strong organizational and communication skills, • Comfortable with physical tasks and working around kilns, clay, and studio materials, • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and adapt to changing studio needs, • Commitment to inclusivity and service in a community arts environment, • Working knowledge of social media platforms and comfort capturing informal photo and video content for internal or promotional use is a plus Reasonable Accommodations Statement To perform this job successfully, a successful candidate must be able to perform satisfactorily each essential duty. The Clinical Coordinator III Nurse Practitioner will function in the outpatient setting of the Kidney/Pancreas Transplant Program in collaboration with the Kidney/Pancreas Transplant multidisciplinary team to care for and manage post-transplant kidney and pancreas recipients, post-operative kidney living donors, and patients who underwent surgical or invasive procedures by the Kidney/Pancreas transplant surgeons. The position will hold a combination of 3-5 half day outpatient office or telehealth sessions per week, with patient care provided at the CUIMC main campus as well as outreach locations across the tri-state area. Responsibilities • Coordinate surgical and medical management of kidney and pancreas transplant patients in the outpatient setting., • Manage living donor follow up in collaboration with living donor coordinators., • Coordinate care of surgical patients that undergo hernia repairs, dialysis catheters, and other elective surgical procedures conducted by our kidney and pancreas surgeons., • Assisting transplant surgeons and nephrologists in the outpatient clinic to perform comprehensive history and physical exams, develop differential diagnoses, implement plan of care and document patient's response to care., • Conduct pre-operative history and physical exams, as well as obtain transplant and other surgical consents., • Provide direct patient care by evaluating patients awaiting transplant, as well as post- transplant recipients, and kidney donors., • Collect, order and interpret lab work and diagnostic studies under agreed upon protocols., • Order and obtain medication prior authorizations for kidney transplant recipients., • Develop practice protocols, standard of care, and patient education material for kidney/pancreas transplant recipients., • In conjunction with the research team, monitor and provide care to patients participating in research studies., • In partnership with Quality, Research and Education group, help develop and manage detail clinical databases to evaluate and improve patient outcomes., • Attend professional meetings and conferences, maintain professional affiliations and enhances professional development to stay current with trends in health care administration. Minimum Qualifications • Minimum education: Master of Science in Nursing, • Minimum related experience: 3-5 years nursing or related experience., • Minimum licensing / certifications required upon start date: NYS RN and NP Licenses and ANCC Board Certification.
