Job Description This Is Not an Entry-Level Position Maple Walnut Woodworks, Inc. is a high-end custom cabinetry and architectural millwork company serving discerning residential and select commercial clients throughout Western New York. Our installations are client-facing, finish-grade, and detail-critical. We are seeking a senior-level cabinet installer with proven experience executing luxury-grade installations. If your background is primarily stock, RTA, big-box, or production cabinetry, this role is not a fit. Position Summary The Senior Cabinet Installer / Finish Carpenter is a full-time, W-2, in-house position responsible for the field installation of fully custom cabinetry and architectural millwork. This role requires advanced finish carpentry skills, independent judgment, and total accountability for layout, fit, alignment, and final presentation. Installers are expected to work with minimal supervision while maintaining finish-grade standards on occupied and high-end job sites. Core Responsibilities Cabinetry & Millwork Installation • Install fully custom kitchen, bath, closet, and built-in cabinetry per approved shop drawings, • Set wall, base, and tall cabinets using controlled datum lines for level, plumb, and square, • Scribe cabinetry, fillers, panels, and trim to irregular walls, floors, and ceilings, • Install integrated and panel-ready appliances with precision reveal control, • Establish and maintain consistent reveals, alignment, and spacing across full runs, • Identify field condition conflicts and resolve proactively, • Perform corrective re-sequencing or rework when required to meet finish-grade standards, • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional job site, • Coordinate with project management, designers, and other trades, • Communicate clearly and professionally on client-facing and occupied sites Required Qualifications (Non-Negotiable) • 8+ years of professional cabinet installation or finish carpentry experience, • Extensive experience installing fully custom cabinetry and architectural millwork, • Advanced scribing skills and experience working in older or irregular structures, • Proven experience with panel-ready and integrated appliances, • Ability to read and execute detailed shop drawings and layouts, • Strong understanding of finish-grade standards and zero-defect expectations, • High level of reliability, professionalism, and self-accountability Disqualifiers (Please Read Carefully) This role is not suitable for candidates whose experience is primarily: • Stock, RTA, or big-box cabinet installation, • Production or tract-home work, • Entry-level or apprentice positions, • Subcontract-only installation backgrounds Compensation & Benefits • Full-time, year-round W-2 employment, • Medical, dental, and vision insurance available, • Paid holidays and PTO, • Stable workload in a professional, quality-driven environment, • Long-term growth with a respected high-end custom shop Who Thrives in This Role You take pride in installations that require no punch list explanations.
