Job DescriptionPharmacy Technician Job Description We are seeking a dedicated Data Entry Pharmacy Technician to join our team. The role involves compounding data entry for up to 350 prescriptions per day, entering formulas for prescriptions from e-scribe, fax, and verbal sources. You will review prescriptions, collaborate with prescribing providers to ensure completeness, and clarify any discrepancies. Responsibilities • Accurately enter prescription data, patient information, and insurance details into the pharmacy system., • Answer incoming calls and respond to inquiries from patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies in a professional and courteous manner., • Communicate prescription status, insurance coverage, and medication information to patients., • Assist pharmacists in processing refill requests, prior authorizations, and prescription transfers., • Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and pharmacy regulations., • Perform other administrative tasks as needed, such as filing, scanning documents, and inventory management., • Pharmacy technician certification, • PTCB certification required for entering verbal prescriptions, • Experience with Epic or other EMR systems, • Compounding experience preferred, • Registration in TN preferred, • Some compounding experience or knowledge You will be working in a fast-paced environment with a first shift from 9 AM to 5 PM. The facility is 5,000 sq ft, with an expansion underway to add 4,000 sq ft. The team currently includes 6 pharmacists, with a total staff of 30. There are 6 hoods in place, with 8 more being added as part of our expansion. The organization is a startup pharmacy with plans for rapid growth, offering leadership opportunities. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Knoxville, Tennessee. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $22.00/hr.
