Core Purpose The Director of Information Technology provides executive leadership for The Trust Company of Tennessees technology program and operating model. This role defines IT strategy, translates it into a clear multi-year roadmap, and ensures technology enables secure, reliable, and scalable operations. The Director of IT is accountable for IT service delivery, modernization initiatives, data and reporting enablement, and vendor and managed service performance, while partnering closely with Information Security and business leaders to support growth, fiduciary responsibility, and operational resilience. This is a hands-on leadership role with meaningful influence, visibility, and accountability. Responsibilities • Shows a commitment to The Trust Companys Mission, Core Values, and Client Promise., • Defines and owns TTCs IT strategy and operating philosophy., • Translates strategy into a prioritized multi-year roadmap and annual operating plan., • Ensures technology supports growth, client experience, fiduciary obligations, and risk management., • Leads IT service delivery and daily operations with a focus on reliability, responsiveness, and continuous improvement., • Establishes and monitors operational metrics, ensuring consistent incident and problem management with root-cause analysis and follow-through., • Determines the optimal balance of internal capabilities and managed services to deliver high-quality outcomes., • Owns IT governance and portfolio oversight, including intake, prioritization, resourcing, milestone tracking, and post-implementation stabilization., • Directs vendor and managed service provider (MSP) performance, including contracts, SLAs, service reviews, escalations, and accountability for outcomes., • Ensures risk-based, evidence-ready vendor governance in coordination with TTCs vendor management program., • Leads enterprise architecture and modernization across TTCs Microsoft-centric environment, including cloud infrastructure, collaboration platforms, endpoint management, and core data and reporting capabilities., • Defines and evolves the enterprise technology delivery model, ensuring effective governance, platform strategy, and alignment between IT and development functions., • Drives improvements in platform resilience, identity, data governance, reporting, and system ownership., • Owns governance oversight for software development, deployment, and application lifecycle management to support reliable solution delivery and platform performance., • Partners closely with the Information Security Officer to ensure security requirements are embedded in IT initiatives and operations., • Ensures audit and exam readiness by overseeing the tracking, remediation, and timely completion of IT-related findings., • Provides executive-level reporting to the President and leadership on IT performance, initiatives, risks, vendor outcomes, and investment recommendations., • Builds and leads a high-performing IT team with a strong service-oriented culture., • Develops and mentors talent, appropriately delegating operational responsibilities while maintaining accountability., • Coordinates and completes special projects as assigned. Qualifications • 8-10+ years of progressive IT leadership experience, including ownership of IT strategy, service delivery, budgets, and vendor/managed services, • Bachelors degree in information systems, computer science, or a related field (or equivalent experience), • Proven experience operating in a cloud-first environment, • Strong experience managing MSPs and complex vendor portfolios, • Demonstrated success leading an IT operating model with governance discipline, metrics, and continuous improvement, • Excellent communication skills and the ability to present clearly to executive leadership, • Strong financial and business acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, and prioritization tradeoffs, • High integrity, strong accountability, and a collaborative leadership style, • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds, • Experience in a regulated financial services environment preferred, • Familiarity with audit and exam expectations and evidence-driven IT governance preferred, • Experience overseeing software development teams or application governance preferred, • PMP, ITIL, or similar certifications preferred, • Experience with Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, and Power Platform preferred
