Our Mission TRIP Clinics at Psychedelic Science Institute brings together clinicians, therapists, researchers, and community partners united by one mission: to advance safe and inclusive access to psychedelic medicine. This position is for an onsite role in our TRIP Clinic Santa Monica. Responsibilities • Conduct comprehensive, culturally responsive medical and psychiatric assessments, including SCID, MINI, MADRS, CAPS, etc. within FDA approved psychedelic clinical trial protocols, • Facilitate ketamine-assisted psychotherapy and medication management services for adult outpatient psychiatric conditions including depression, anxiety, traumatic stress, OCD, ADHD, Bipolar, • Prescribe, monitor and administer intramuscular ketamine to ketamine-assisted psychotherapy patients., • Provide clinical coverage, including physical exams, medical/psychiatric histories, lab ordering, medication management (e.g., tapers), evaluation of adverse events, and on-call support during and up to 24 hours post-ketamine and/or clinical trial dosing sessions., • Provide supervision/training/monitoring for RNs and MAs to assure cohesive standards of quality care are maintained across providers., • Collaborate with patients, participants, therapists, office staff, interdisciplinary providers, and pharmacies to ensure coordinated care., • Maintain timely and accurate documentation in the Electronic Health Records (EHR) system, including session notes, treatment plans and intake assessments within 24 hours of service., • Ensure confidentiality and compliance with GCP, HIPAA and all relevant legal and regulatory requirements regarding client records and protected health information (PHI)., • Assess risk and manage crises in accordance with California BRN laws, mandated reporting requirements, and the nursing code of ethics., • Occasional phlebotomy to back-up other clinical/nursing staff., • Preparing and maintaining clean, well-stocked treatment rooms and medical supplies in line with organizational standards., • Participate in regular supervision, team meetings, and ongoing training as required., • Compliance with all procedures and protocols & regulatory procedures as related to scheduled drugs, under direction of DEA and/or supervising physician., • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor. Position Requirements • Active California licensure as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, including RN, NP, and Furnishing licenses., • Current AHA Basic Life Support certification (or higher)., • DEA license (California-specific or transferable) required within 90 days of clinical start date; proof of transfer is the employee's responsibility., • National board certification from an approved certifying body required by the first day of employment., • Demonstrated experience as a PMH Nurse Practitioner serving a diverse adult patient population, including primary care., • Active and current Good Clinical Practice research training (or willing to complete with 30 days of hire)., • Skilled in requesting and delivering consultative services across multidisciplinary teams., • Proficient in clinical documentation within electronic health record (EHR) systems., • Competent in interpreting diagnostic tests, procedures, and radiographic studies., • Strong patient-centered approach with exceptional bedside manner., • Collaborative, team-oriented professional with a positive work ethic.
