Job Description BronxWorks helps individuals and families improve their economic and social well-being. The Living Room is the BronxWorks central location for its adult homeless services. BronxWorks operates three 24-hour programs that include a drop-in center, a 50-bed safe haven for chronically street homeless adults, and our borough wide mobile street outreach program. All of the programs provide direct services to street homeless individuals in the Bronx including case management, food, clothing, emergency shelter, referrals to NYC shelters, and permanent housing placement. STATEMENT OF THE JOB The Housing Wellness Coordinator works as an integral member of Supportive Housing Programs for seniors. The Housing Wellness Coordinator is responsible for providing a range of on-site wellness services that meet the behavioral health and social needs of residents. The Housing Wellness Coordinator is responsible for meeting & assessing building tenants and developing & implementing appropriate and effective communal and individual wellness activities that support residents as they age in place. The Jerome Avenue Men’s Shelter (JAMS) provides beds to 200 men with mental illness who are experiencing homelessness. The site offers an array of social services, such as housing case management (including assistance with benefits and gathering vital documents), programming to address mental health and substance abuse issues, meals, and activities. The site has an on-site clinic that can provide primary care and psychiatric services. Residents can remain at the shelter until placed into permanent housing, ideally within nine months of receiving services. Job Description Overview Employed by PAGNY for The Division of Correctional Health Services (CHS) of New York City Health + Hospitals (H+H) is responsible for the delivery of medical care, mental health care, and discharge planning in the jail system. Approximately 25% of new admissions per year to the NYC jail system will receive care on the mental health service. Experience working in correctional settings is not required, however the ability to work closely and effectively with multiple other disciplines including security staff is critical. • Provides psychiatric care, including admission evaluations, follow-ups and urgent and emergent consultations to individuals enrolled in the mental health service, • Provide consultation to non-prescribing mental health staff and medical staff about diagnosis, treatment and/or the need for psychiatric medication, • Participate in team meetings with the treatment staff, on a daily basis if working on a mental observation unit and on a weekly basis if working in one of the clinics, • Regularly participate in the creation of individual treatment plans for patients, and review plans already in place, • Evaluate patients for the need for a higher level of care, including hospitalizations. Responsibilities: • Accounts Payable Management:, • Process invoices to appropriate ledger accounts, departments, and locations for proper allocation and approvals, in a timely manner and ensure adherence to company policies and procedures., • Maintain vendor profiles, ensuring accuracy of vendor information, including contact details, appropriate documentation, and payment terms and instructions., • Respond promptly and professionally to vendor inquiries and discrepancies, resolving issues effectively and efficiently., • Prepare vendor payments, including checks, ACH payments, and wire transfers., • Prepare year-end 1099s to appropriate vendors, in compliance with tax guidelines and deadlines., • Credit Card and Expense Report Management:, • Administer corporate credit card program, including issuance of cards to employees and monitoring spend limits in accordance to company policy., • Process and reconcile credit card and expense report transactions, obtaining support from employees to ensure accurate coding and documentation., • Assist employees with expense report submissions and provide guidance on company’s T&E policies and procedures., • Process Improvements:, • Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and enhance efficiency., • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement process improvements and automation solutions., • Conduct regular reviews of existing procedures, recommending adjustments to optimize workflow and reduce errors., • General Accounting Support:, • Assist in month-end close processes, including journal entries, accruals and reconciliations., • Prepare various financial reports, such as aging reports and expense variance analyses., • Contribute to budgeting and forecasting activities by providing insights and supporting documentation as needed., • Assist with external audits by providing documentation and support. Requirements Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field., • CPA certification or progress towards certification is a plus., • 2+ years of experience in accounting roles., • Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices., • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, NetSuite) and MS Excel., • Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy., • Proactive mindset with a continuous improvement orientation., • Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with cross-functional teams., • Strong organizational and time management skills.
