Details\n \n • Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00-07:30) in a busy Emergency Department\n, • 36 or 48-hour contracts available, with 48 hours reserved for travelers with both Level I trauma and travel experience\n, • Approximately 60%-80% of ED patients are admitted, with many rooms functioning as ED Holding\n, • Patient ratio of 1:5\n, • Weekend shifts scheduled as needed (Fri-Sun nights, Sat-Sun days)\n, • No on-call requirements\n, • Floating to Peds ED is optional; floating to Adult PCUs expected based on staffing needs, with potential floating to ED Holding and Trauma\n, • Cerner charting system used\n, • Facility may call off shifts up to 3 times during a 13-week assignment\n Requirements\n \n, • Active RN license (NM or Compact) required, pending license accepted\n, • Minimum 2 years of ED experience required (1.5 years may be considered)\n, • Level II trauma experience required; Level I trauma experience strongly preferred\n, • Travel experience strongly preferred; first-time travelers with 2+ years of Level I trauma experience may be considered\n, • Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, and TNCC (TNCC must be obtained prior to submission)\n, • RQI certifications not accepted\n, • Preferred experience: charge nurse role, teaching hospital setting, and Cerner charting\n, • Skills preferred: arterial line management, blood product administration, central line care, ventilator patient care, continuous IV sedation, IV vasopressors, procedural sedation, CVA and neuro-trauma care, spinal cord and traumatic brain injury care, gunshot wound and traumatic amputation care, and ortho trauma\n, • Trauma/resuscitation experience required\n, • Non-local candidates only, must live outside 100-mile radius with valid non-local driver's license on file\n Additional Information\n \n, • Provide comprehensive emergency care including medication administration via IV and the seven medication rights, documenting and communicating clinical findings\n, • Facility is a Level I Trauma Center, Children's Hospital, Teaching Hospital, and Acute Care facility with 554 staffed beds\n, • Must work 2 of the 3 holiday bundles: Thanksgiving/day after, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, or New Year's Eve/Day\n, • Christmas RTO is not permitted this contract cycle\n, • RTO requests over 7 days require approval; no RTO during first or last week of contract\n, • Scrub color is black, not provided by facility\n, • No parking fee for staff\n, • COVID vaccination is optional, but facility requires reporting of vaccine status or declination\n, • 6-month system break required after 1 year or 4 consecutive assignments, whichever comes first\n, • Former staff must have a 12-month separation before returning\n, • New contracts and extensions must be at least 10 weeks in length\n \n \n American Traveler Job ID #P-741071.
