Job Description Applicants must live in or be within commuting distance of the Miami or Fort Lauderdale, FL area to be considered for this position in our Miami Springs office. Ability to work from home three Fridays out of the month, other days must be in the office. Position: Print Estimating Manager - Commercial Full Time: 9:00 AM EST – 6:00 PM EST + (flexible) Industry Segment: Web and Sheetfed Commercial Printing/Publication Printing/Print Management Experience: 7+ years as an estimator for a web, sheetfed, and/or digital volume operation. Proficient at job cost analysis and able to suggest more efficient methods for manufacturing jobs. Customer Service abilities are a plus. Environment: Work with Regional and National Lifestyle, Luxury, and Fashion publishers. This person will have an opportunity to work directly with the CEO and have an immediate impact. You will experience working with market-leading international companies in North America, South America, Europe, and Asia. Benefits: Employee discount Application Question(s): Estimate for web, sheetfed, and digital, and assist with vendor sourcing/purchasing process Experience: • Print Estimating: 7 years (Required), • Web and Sheetfed, and Digital: 7 years (Required) Language: English (Required) Ability to Commute: Miami Springs, FL 33166 (Required) Work Location: In person Compensation: $70,000 - $90,000 yearly Responsibilities: • Estimate for web, sheetfed, and digital, and assist with vendor sourcing/purchasing process, • Understand print and paper programs/contracts, • Monitor paper usage to improve waste and profitability, • Assistance with estimating logistics, including rail, truck, and maritime, • Analyze job specifications to ensure that all required information for calculating costs is included, and communicate with the customer service department for clarification as needed, • Utilize printing experience and knowledge to analyze quotes and any relevant documentation concerning the job, benchmark against similar historical jobs, and then disseminate the information for both internal and external use, • Post analysis of job performance to review projected gross profit to improve our estimating performance continuously, • Proficient at handling challenges creatively, both internally and externally, • Work directly with the CEO/Management on procedural improvements, • Compile data and analyze results of job cost studies to determine the accuracy of estimating standards, develop, institute, and delegate corrective actions where needed, • Calculate total costs for both proposed and actual jobs, to include comparison of quantities and more efficient production processes, • Communicate effectively with customers regarding print orders while maintaining a customer-driven attitude and being sensitive to their needs, • Excellent communication skills with clients, internally, and with clients, • Attend daily meetings to discuss jobs and clients, • Seeks to develop or improve processes continuously and can document and identify solutions, • Ability to work exceptionally well under pressure and on time, handling multiple projects within a fast-paced environment, maintaining a positive, solution-focused attitude, • As a team member in a growing company, you may be required to perform non-estimating tasks at times, • Organize documentation and analyze jobs once complete, and prepare billing for accuracyQualifications:, • Commercial print estimating experience is required, • Estimate for web, sheetfed, and digital, and assist with vendor sourcing/purchasing process, • Very experienced in a Windows-based computer environment on a network using Microsoft Office components (Excel, Word, PPT, Outlook) as well as a custom database and NetSuite.
